Dai Nam University Evaluates and Executes Initiatives for the Upcoming Academic Year: Dedicated to Excellence, Committed to Students

On the morning of September 21, 2024, Dai Nam University (DNU) conducted the Review Ceremony for the Academic Year 2023-2024 and outlined objectives for the upcoming academic year 2024-2025. This event assessed the previous academic year's activities and established strategic objectives for the forthcoming year to further the mission of holistic development. Over 1,000 University faculty and staff members participated with full determination  to attain exceptional outcomes in the forthcoming academic year.

 

Highlights of the 2023-2024 Academic Year 

The academic year 2023-2024 witnessed major increases in student enrollment, training scale growth, international cooperation, and infrastructure improvements. Specifically:

  • Enrollment reached the target. Over the 2022-2023 academic year, admission scores improved by 1-3 points.

  • The training scale enrolled more than 15,000 students, with the goal of reaching 25,000 by 2027 and 45,000 by 2037.

  • The infrastructure has been developed rapidly, with one building completed annually to meet the training demands.

  • 8 training programs were accredited.

  • The international Webometric ranking placed Dai Nam University 90th out of 190 Vietnamese universities.

  • We recruited nearly 200 new employees, including professors, doctors, and master's degree holders from major educational institutions.

  • We have launched 13 new majors in anticipation of future labor market changes.

  • We offered seven enticing scholarship schemes to prospective students, granting nearly 15 billion VND in scholarships to learners from various courses.

  • We collaborated with hundreds of significant businesses to provide student training and employment opportunities.

  • We expanded international cooperation with partners in the United States, South Korea, Japan, and Taiwan.

  • We successfully coordinated international conferences and the university's largest employment fair to date.

Dr. Le Dac Son - Chairman of the University Council - stated: “With a solid foundation and a spirit of unity and dedication to students, Dai Nam University will continue to make breakthroughs and explode with success in the 2024-2025 academic year”.

Recognizing and resolving shortcomings

Despite achieving many significant accomplishments, Dai Nam University recognizes its limitations and strives to improve. Addressing deficiencies in teaching and administration is both a responsibility and an opportunity for teachers to release creativity and improve instructional methods, resulting in a good and inspirational learning environment for students.

This innovation not only ignites students' enthusiasm for learning, but it also pushes them to grow holistically, preparing them to meet obstacles in both their academics and careers.

Tasks for the 2024-2025 academic year: Increasing student motivation for learning and career development 

Dr. Le Dac Son, Chairman of the University Council, spoke at the ceremony, emphasizing the importance of unity and perseverance in overcoming problems and meeting new academic year goals. 

He emphasized that Dai Nam University will continue to encourage new teaching techniques, incorporate technology into education, and provide students with incentives to learn and work while they are studying.

Commitment to enhancing training quality and business connections 

The institution is committed to improving training quality by providing students with not only professional knowledge, but also the skills they need in the labor market. The training curriculum will align with the practical demands of the business, equipping students with valuable career skills  during their academic pursuit.

In addition, student support activities in psychology, health, and career orientation will be expanded to assist students in developing holistically in a joyful learning and working environment.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Hong, Rector of DNU, delivered a report summarizing the 2023-2024 academic year and outlined the important tasks for the next academic year.

The Board of Directors, leaders of faculties, departments, institutes, and centers are united in committing to excellently completing the targets for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Honoring outstanding contributions

The ceremony honored 8 teams and 30 individuals for their remarkable achievements in the 2023-2024 academic year, and also recognized 13 teams and 71 individuals for successfully completing their assignments. The Chairman of the University Council also recognized the IT Department and Office of Administrative Management for their outstanding achievements in research, development, and emergency response.

Dr. Le Dac Son awarded certificates of merit for outstanding performance in the 2023-2024 academic year to Ms. Cao Thi Hoa - Vice President, and Ms. Le Thi Thanh Huong - Vice President.

Dr. Le Dac Son also awarded certificates of merit for good performance in the 2023-2024 academic year to Dr. Pham Van Hong - President, and Ms. Pham Thi Lien - Vice President.

We honored 8 teams for completing their tasks excellently in the academic year.

For successfully completing their tasks throughout the academic year, 13 teams received recognition.

The 2023–2024 academic year honored 30 individuals for their outstanding performance.

The ceremony recognized 71 individuals who successfully completed their tasks in the 2023-2024 academic year.

The University Council's Chairman commended the IT department for its excellent achievements in developing management software for air conditioning, Wi-Fi systems, and camera systems.

The Office of Administrative Management staff also received special appreciation for their quick response to Typhoon Yagi's devastation, allowing the university's activities to continue.

 

The summary ceremony was not only an occasion to reflect on accomplishments but also a motivation for all staff and lecturers to strive for better success in the coming academic year. Dai Nam University is committed to fulfilling its strategic goals for 2023-2027, with a focus on the vision for 2037, the university's 30th anniversary year.
