OUR PROUD MILESTONES & ACHIEVEMENTS
I. Establishment Process
15 years ago, the Prime Minister authorized Dai Nam University's official operation and college attendance in accordance with Decision No. 1535/QD-TTg DHDN. Since then, Dai Nam University has officially taken November 14 as its anniversary celebration.
Mr. Banh Tien Long - Deputy Minister of Education and Training - conferred the License of Establishment to the Chairman of the Board of Directors at Hilton Hotel Hanoi.
The proud history of Dai Nam University started from June 2005, when Dr. Le Dac Son (then General Director of VPBank), together with 12 scientists, embarked on the construction of an establishment project under the auspices of Vietnam Construction Association.
After 2 years of preparation for conditions to be licensed to operate by the Prime Minister, the founders of Dai Nam University had to make efforts to complete the following tasks:
The first is to build a comprehensive set of scientific argumentations on the necessity of Dai Nam University establishment in accordance with the Government's planning in the network of universities in the country, and a full collection of economic-technical argumentations for the professions that the university aims to provide training for.
The second is to gather a complete group of faculty members of the training majors with academic titles, academic ranks and degrees according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
The third is to prove the financial capacity, specifically by raising a total of VND 30 billion in the bank account contributed by the founders to build the university. This is the minimum charter capital level prescribed by the State to establish a new university at that time. According to current regulations, the minimum charter capital is VND 1,000 billion.
The fourth is to ensure meeting the requirements for infrastructure. The procedures for being granted 10.5 hectares of land in the planning from the local government (then the People's Committee of Ha Tay province) to build Dai Nam University complex in the future must be fully demonstrated.
In June 2007, the Founding Council submitted a complete application for a license to the Ministry of Education and Training and the Government Office. After nearly 6 months of reviewing and appraising, the management agencies submitted to the Prime Minister for establishment approval.
Dai Nam University's headquarters is located at No.1 Xom St. - Phu Lam Ward - Ha Dong District - Hanoi.
On November 14, 2007, after nearly two and a half years of building the conditions to ensure training quality as prescribed, Dai Nam University was granted the establishment decision by the Prime Minister, and the Decision on recognition by the Ministry of Education and Training. Dr. Le Dac Son officially became the first Chairman of the Board of Directors of the University.
The first Board of Directors of Dai Nam University consists of 6 members, specifically assigned as follows:
1 - Mr. Le Dac Son – Chairman
2 - Mr. Do Quan - Vice Chairman
3 - Mr. Le Dinh Dao - Vice Chairman
4 - Mr. Doan Hong Nam - Commissioner
5 - Mr. Le Dac Lam - Commissioner
6 - Mr. Phan Ngoc Hieu - Commissioner
II. Mission and Vision of Dai Nam University
2.1 Mission
Dai Nam University was established on 14/11/2007 under Decision 1535/TTg of the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. It has been known as a university for multi-disciplinary application and training since its inception.
The mission of the university is: "Training graduates to lead fulfilling lives and become upstanding citizens”.
2.2 Mission
Dai Nam University is regarded as the top priority for learners with a variety of majors. Dai Nam University’s core training concentrates on the fields of Healthcare & Protection, including Medicine, Pharmacy, and Nursing; emphasizing investment, development, and internationalization of fields in high demand, including: IT, Computer Science, Business Administration, International Business, Logistics & Supply Chain Management, E-commerce, Multimedia, Tourism and Travel Service Management, and Foreign Languages (English, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, etc.)
Our goal is that by 2030, Dai Nam University will become a reliable destination among leading universities in Vietnam for learners of multiple professions. In terms of scientific and technological research, Dai Nam aims at making significant advancements in research and technology transfer in the field of Public Health Care and Protection.
Dai Nam University has been and will continue to accomplish its Mission and Vision with the training philosophy of “Learning for change”, and the motto of “Building society’s trust” through “Quality - Respect differences – Creativity”.
III. Outstanding milestones and achievements
After 15 years since its establishment, Dai Nam University has made outstanding achievements:
3.1 The rapid increase in the number of training disciplines and levels

Currently, Dai Nam University has 5 graduate training majors:

3.2 The surge in the number of undergraduates and postgraduates
After 15 years of training, Dai Nam University has enrolled 32,000 students. By 2022, the University has enrolled for 16 regular university courses; 12 courses have graduated with nearly 10,000 Pharmacists, Bachelors, Engineers, and Architects. Every year, more than 11,000 students study in all training systems.
In terms of post-graduate training, the university has more than 1,000 postgraduates. Currently, Dai Nam University has nearly 800 postgraduates studying in 5 majors.
According to surveys, the percentage of graduates who have a job related to their formal training is more than 95%. Many majors reach 100% with high starting salaries and promising promotion opportunities.
3.3 The growth in both quantity and quality of full-time staff and lecturers
In the first school year 2007-2008, Dai Nam University had only 35 full-time staff and lecturers. This number is now more than 600, including 03 professors, 50 associate professors, 125 PhDs, 385 Masters, etc...
100% of DNU's lecturers are methodically and professionally trained at reputable domestic and international training institutions. Notably, the school's staff is continuously learning to improve their expertise and work skills.
In particular, the number of staff and lecturers trained in countries with developed education such as the US, the UK, Australia, Singapore, Japan, Korea, Taiwan... who are working in Dai Nam is increasing.
The staff and lecturers of Dai Nam University has increased rapidly in number to meet the actual training needs.
4. The improvement in training facilities
Dai Nam University now spans a total area of 89,643.5 m2. After the first construction phase, 16,631 m2 of gross floor area had been completed, including conference halls, lecture hall buildings, a library, a materials archive center, laboratories, a multi-purpose sport center, 3 football fields, a basketball court, and a national defense training ground...
The construction plan of Dai Nam University has been approved by Hanoi City Council.
Dai Nam University is the first university to have a 3-star, 4-star, and 5-star hotel model and a Travel Center for students of the Faculty of Tourism to practice.
With the policy of learning going hand in hand with practicing as well as learning for application, Dai Nam University has a lecture hall system of 220 classrooms, with an area of nearly 24,000 m2; 4 pharmacology experiment workspaces with more than 50 rooms, 10 technical practice workshops with an area of 1,000 m2, a practical pharmacy, 02 herbal gardens meeting the standards prescribed by the Ministry of Health for Pharmacist training institutions University; 14 laboratories meeting training courses in basic science, basic and preclinical medicine; The Nursing practice area is separated, with the most modern skinlap system to help Nursing students master 55 core career skills.

The system of machinery and equipment for practice and experimentation of the Health Division of Dai Nam University is as well-equipped as reputable domestic medical and pharmaceutical training institutions.
The practice area for medical and nursing students is described as a "miniature hospital" inside Dai Nam University.
In addition, Dai Nam University is also equipped with 10 modern computer rooms with an area of nearly 2,000 m2 to serve the practice of information technology and computer science. The Faculty of Information Technology, Chinese, Korean and Japanese Language and Culture has a modern lab system to serve as the best practice environment for students.
The powerful computer system fulfills all the learning and practicing needs of students
The Finance - Banking and Accounting Practice Center helps students practice skills to perform basic commercial banking operations such as: Bank accounting, bank transactions, credit transactions with guidance from ministries of leading commercial banks.
The system of libraries and reading rooms provides students with many opportunities to access valuable and useful materials which can enrich their study and lifestyle.
Moreover, Dai Nam University students also have access to 3 football fields, 1 basketball court, a multi-purpose gymnasium and a dormitory system of 5,000 m2 with 144 self-contained and fully equipped rooms...
These facilities ensure that all theories are practically illustrated, helping students easily and effectively acquire and apply knowledge.
5. Recognition by State management agencies and social organizations:
Dai Nam University has achieved accreditation of educational institutions according to the new standards of the Ministry of Education and Training.
- Certificate of Merit from the Ministry of Education and Training for outstanding achievements in the emulation movement “Innovation in management, teaching and learning” 2021-2022;
Assoc. Dr. Hoang Minh Son awarded the Certificate of Merit from the Ministry of Education and Training to Dai Nam University.
- Certificate of Merit for Higher Education & Medal for Higher Education 2022 from the Association of Universities and Colleges of Vietnam;
Assoc. Dr. Hoang Minh Son awarded Certificates of Merit and Medals for Higher Education to the school and outstanding individuals.
- Certificate of Accreditation of Educational Institutions according to the new set of standards by the Ministry of Education and Training in 2019;
- Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister of Vietnam in 2017;
- Certificate of Merit from the Ministry of Education and Training in the period 2007-2012, 2007-2014;
- Emulation flag for outstanding achievements in higher education institutions by the Ministry of Education and Training in the academic year 2015-2016;
