INTRODUCTION OF THE FACULTY OF NATIONAL DEFENSE AND SECURITY EDUCATION

Established from 2019, all students of Dai Nam University could study Defense - Security right at the main campus with experienced lecturers and modern facilities are rated as the best today.

2. Formation and Development Process:
On November 14, 2007, the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 1535/QD-TTg on the establishment of Dai Nam University.

In 2019, Dai Nam University was officially allowed by the Ministry of Education and Training to autonomously teach National Defense and Security to all students.

In addition to specialized knowledge, soft skills, and foreign languages, Dai Nam University attaches great importance to teaching National Defense and Security to students.

Therefore, in recent years, the National Defense and Security education has been well-taken care of and linked with units such as the National Defense and Security Center of Vietnam National University, the Second National Defense and Security Center - Hanoi High Command, and the Faculty of National Defense Education - Military Academy of the Army, ensuring quality and safety.

Starting from 2019, students from all faculties of Dai Nam University are able to learn National Defense and Security at the No. 1 Xom Street - Phu Lam - Ha Dong - Hanoi campus with experienced lecturers and modern facilities, evaluated as the best currently available.

However, to facilitate and provide the best conditions for their students to learn National Defense and Security, nothing is better than studying right at the school where their lecturers are teaching. With that determination, the Governing Board and the Management Board have made every effort to build facilities (equipment, sports grounds, dormitories for students), train and develop a standard, sufficient, and best-qualified teaching staff for teaching and learning needs of staff and students…

Thanks to the attention and support of the National Defense Education Division, the Ministry of Education and Training, and other units, on October 11, 2019, the Minister of Education and Training officially signed Letter No. 4663/BGDĐT-QPAN agreeing to allow Dai Nam University to autonomously organize teaching, evaluate learning outcomes, and award diplomas and certificates for National Defense and Security Education programs.

In addition to professional knowledge, soft skills, and foreign languages, Dai Nam University places special emphasis on providing national defense and security education and training for its students.

4. Facilities:

- Weapon and military equipment models to meet the training needs of two battalions at the same time (300 students/session).
- Modern and solid model training ground for tactical exercises: 1000m2.
- The Military and Security dormitory located on campus can accommodate 300 students per session.

5. Functions and tasks: 
5.1. Functions:
The Faculty of National Defense and Security Education has the function of organizing and implementing training programs approved in detail; organizing extracurricular activities, developing human resources, and conducting scientific research in military science and technology. Advising the Governing Board, Board of Administrators, and the Party Committee on military and defense work, local defense, self-defense, and the selection of reserve officers as assigned by higher authorities to the university, managing the faculty and staff, training and developing teaching staff, and participating in the education and training of students.

5.2. Tasks:
* Training activities:
The Faculty is assigned to teach the subject of National Defense Education and Security according to the curriculum of the Ministry of Education and Training for regular university, college, and intermediate levels. 

The Faculty is also responsible for ensuring that upon completion of the course, students have sufficient knowledge of national defense and security and are ready to serve the country when needed.

Students at Dainam University are excited about the National Defense Education and Security training program.

* Tasks:
- Proposing and developing detailed curricula and courses that are appropriate for the assigned levels of training;

- Proposing, compiling, revising textbooks, course materials, study materials, and related lectures for the Faculty;

- Organizing the implementation of the teaching plan assigned by the university: assigning appropriate teaching, ensuring the quality of training, and maintaining progress in the curriculum according to the university-approved plan;

- Updating and innovating teaching methods suitable for each training target group;

- Organizing the lecturers' teaching practice and getting feedback from students about their teaching;

- Evaluating students' learning outcomes according to the current regulations: developing and updating the question bank, determining evaluation methods, and approaching advanced evaluation methods to ensure accuracy and objectivity; 

- Participating in the education and training of students, and the recruitment work as required by the university;

- Advising the University Administration on military and defense work, local defense, self-defense, and the selection of reserve officers as assigned by higher authorities to the university;

- Developing training objectives, and directions regarding the development of the Faculty in the coming years;

- Participating in other activities and tasks assigned by the university.
