2,000 m² of hands-on digital commerce training at DNU: bringing the digital business ecosystem into the classroom.
Behind a live stream sales session is more than just the person in front of the camera. It's an entire ecosystem encompassing content, technology, data, marketing, platform operations, sales, and the supply chain. Drawing on the experience of China – the world's leading e-commerce market – Dai Nam University, in collaboration with Chinese partners, is deploying a 2,000 m² digital commerce practice space right on campus, aiming to bring current market processes into the student training environment.

LEARN FROM A MARKET THAT HAS GONE A LOT
China has been the world's largest online retail market for 13 consecutive years, with online retail sales projected to reach nearly 16 trillion RMB by 2025.
But what's noteworthy isn't just the market size. From e-commerce, China has formed a vast professional ecosystem centered around livestreaming and digital business: content creation, video production, studio operation, digital marketing, data analytics, platform management, sales, logistics, supply chain, and cross-border e-commerce.
Livestreaming, therefore, is no longer simply about someone standing in front of a camera introducing a product. Behind a live broadcast is a whole series of tasks and many different professional roles.
Many educational institutions in China have incorporated the "Production and Education Integration" model – linking training with the practical operations of businesses – into training centers, studios, and e-commerce practice facilities right within the school.
This is also the experience that Dai Nam University wants to gain during its cooperation with Chinese partners.
During a recent meeting with a delegation from Chinese government agencies, international cooperation organizations, and businesses, one of the key topics discussed was the establishment of a Training Center for E-commerce Live Broadcasting Operations.
According to the plan, Dai Nam University has allocated 2,000 m² of space to jointly build a specialized practice area with its partners. Renovation work is underway, aiming to put the Center into operation from mid-October 2026.
But the value of these 2,000 m² doesn't lie in creating another place for students to "learn via livestream."

2,000 m² - BEHIND THE CAMERA LIES A WHOLE CHAIN OF PROFESSIONS
Who conducts customer research? Who develops the scripts? Who produces the images and videos? Who operates the platform? Who runs the marketing? Who reads the data to understand where viewers come from, how long they stay, and when they decide to make a purchase? Who manages products, orders, logistics, and the supply chain?
That's the part DNU wants students to see behind a livestream session.
The 2,000 m² space is designed as a digital commerce practice environment, where students gradually learn about the entire workflow: from content creation, image and video production, broadcast organization to technology, marketing, platform operations, data, and business.
Students don't just stand in front of the camera. They can stand behind the camera, behind data, behind marketing campaigns, and even behind entire digital business operations.
Through a livestream project, students in E-commerce, Marketing, Multimedia Communications, Information Technology, Logistics, Business Administration, Chinese Language, and many other fields can find practical experience related to their specialization.
The important point, therefore, is not that DNU has 2,000 m². The important point is how those 2,000 m² are operated.

Dai Nam University has allocated a 2,000 m² space to develop a Training Center for Live Broadcasting Operations in E-commerce.
Having only a studio, cameras, and lighting system is just the physical infrastructure. The real value is created when students receive a product, conduct market research, identify customers, build content, organize broadcasts, manage marketing, track data, process orders, and finally measure effectiveness with tangible results.
The lesson then ended not with a test, but with questions very relevant to businesses: Are customers watching? Are the products selling? Which content is effective? How much does it cost? If it's not effective, what needs to be changed?
That is the gap that Dai Nam University aims to bridge between the lecture hall and the labor market.
LEARN THROUGH REAL-WORLD PROCESSES - WORK ON REAL PROBLEMS - GAIN ACCESS TO REAL EXPERTS AND BUSINESSES.

Associate Professor Dr. Dao Thi Thu Giang, Rector of Dai Nam University, emphasized: “In education, students must be placed at the center. All activities that create practical value for learners are prioritized by DNU. The university aims to bridge the gap between the classroom and the labor market, so that students not only learn knowledge but also gain practical experience and accumulate professional skills during their training.”
This project is part of an expanded cooperation initiative between Dai Nam University and universities, technology centers, and businesses in China. The goal goes beyond simply providing a practical training space; it aims towards training programs, expert exchanges, internships, business experiences, and connecting human resources to meet the actual needs of the market.

During the meeting, the two sides also discussed the possibility of expanding cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), building laboratories and practice centers, and creating opportunities for Vietnamese students and lecturers to receive training, internships, and experience at businesses and technology centers in Guangxi.
According to Mr. Lam Thach Hoa, a second-level inspector at the Development and Reform Commission of the Autonomous Region, collaborative models linking schools with businesses will help students gain earlier access to technology, work environments, and practical career requirements.
Technology is rapidly changing how businesses sell, communicate, manage, and recruit. If the market changes quickly while training programs remain stagnant, the gap between the day students graduate and the day they are actually able to work will widen.
Therefore, the story of the 2,000 m² at Dai Nam University is not just about building another center. It's about experimenting with a different learning approach: bringing a part of the market into the university.
Businesses bring real-world problems. Technology brings real tools. Instructors bring knowledge and methods. Students directly work, make mistakes, correct them, measure results, and grow from that very process.
This is also how Dai Nam University concretizes its orientation of "Open classrooms - Partnering businesses - Accelerating technology".

At DNU, international collaboration is only truly valuable when those handshakes ultimately translate into concrete learning, experiential, and career opportunities for students.
The E-commerce Live Broadcasting Operations Training Center is expected to officially begin operations in mid-October 2026.
