Top student in E-commerce at DNU: No one becomes a "diamond" without going through a "crucible".
Eight consecutive semesters of excellent academic achievement, top graduate in E-commerce, first prize in university-level scientific research, publications in specialized journals and international conferences… This is the admirable record of Vu Thi Mai Chi, a former student of the K17 cohort, Faculty of Economics and Management, Dai Nam University.
According to Mai Chi, no achievement comes from luck or solely from talent. Behind every milestone is a journey of training in an environment that always encourages students to dare to try, with the support of teachers, inspiration from friends, and opportunities to discover their own abilities.

Vu Thi Mai Chi - valedictorian of the E-commerce major at Dai Nam University, with an outstanding scholarship achievement for 8 consecutive semesters.
Scientific research is not just about winning awards.
Mai Chi chose E-commerce because she loves the intersection of business, marketing, and technology. What kept her engaged throughout her four years of study was not only the curriculum but also the learning environment closely linked to practice, where students participate in projects, intern at businesses, and engage in scientific research from their early years.
The biggest turning point in Mai Chi's university journey came from her decision to participate in scientific research. This process forced her to read many in-depth documents, process data, test hypotheses, and defend her viewpoints with scientific evidence instead of emotions.
Vu Thi Mai Chi shared: "Scientific research has helped me change my way of thinking. I've learned how to analyze problems, work with data, and view things more systematically. By combining classroom knowledge with practical experience at businesses, I have the opportunity to create academic value and better prepare for my future career."
These efforts were recognized with the First Prize in the university-level student scientific research competition for the 2025-2026 academic year, with the topic "Factors Affecting Student Satisfaction with the Digital Learning Platform at Dai Nam University," a project that was subsequently selected to participate in the national student scientific research award.
Furthermore, Mai Chi is also a co-author of an article published in the Journal of Economics and Finance and a paper presented at the International Conference on Innovation for Global Development 2026.
Skills need to be honed in the right environment.

Her academic and scientific research journey helped Vu Thi Mai Chi hone her thinking skills, confidence, and professional competence before entering the labor market.
According to Dr. Nguyen Thanh Huyen, Head of the Faculty of Economics and Management, what is valuable about Mai Chi lies not only in her achievements but also in the journey of growth behind those accomplishments.
Dr. Nguyen Thanh Huyen commented: "Mai Chi has a good academic foundation, but her abilities will only truly flourish when combined with a proactive attitude, perseverance, and the courage to take risks. We always believe that when a capable student is taught in a suitable environment, supported by teachers, collaborated with peers in research and critical analysis, and given opportunities to test their abilities, they will develop even more strongly."
The Head of the Faculty of Economics and Management stated that in their first year participating in scientific research, Mai Chi's group only received an Encouragement Award. These setbacks helped the members adjust their methods and refine their research thinking, leading to breakthroughs in the following season.
"Our goal is not just to have more award-winning projects, but more importantly, to help students develop research thinking, learn to ask questions, learn independently, and create value. That is the foundation that will help them develop sustainably after graduation," emphasized Dr. Nguyen Thanh Huyen.
Pressure is the "forging furnace" for diamonds.
Throughout her three years of university, Mai Chi simultaneously served as class president, participated in scientific research, completed internships at businesses, obtained her IELTS certificate, and prepared her graduation thesis.
The top student in E-commerce recalled: "There was a time when I was working on my thesis, doing scientific research, studying for the IELTS exam, and doing an internship all at the same time. The pressure was immense, but it was also during that period that I learned how to manage my time, prioritize, and not give up when faced with difficulties."

The learning environment at the Faculty of Economics and Management encourages students to develop research thinking, practical skills, and professional competence through a variety of academic activities.
According to Ms. Le Dieu Hien, Mai Chi's homeroom teacher, what stands out about Mai Chi is her proactive spirit in studying and training. "Mai Chi doesn't wait for opportunities to come to her; she always proactively prepares her abilities to seize opportunities. Whether in academics, scientific research, class work, or extracurricular activities, she always chooses to get involved and strive to the best of her ability. That's also what Dai Nam University always hopes to inspire in each student," Ms. Le Dieu Hien commented.
Unleash your true identity and continue your journey with your real abilities.
From a young student who was still quite apprehensive on her first day of university, Mai Chi concluded her university journey with eight consecutive semesters of excellent academic scholarships, the title of valedictorian, first prize in scientific research, numerous academic publications, and a job in her field immediately after graduation.
However, the most valuable thing she gained was not her academic achievements, but rather her ability to learn independently, her research-oriented thinking, her resilience under pressure, and her belief in her own abilities.

With a student-centered approach, the Faculty of Economics and Management continuously supports and creates opportunities for each student to develop their individual abilities and be ready to integrate into the labor market.
The story of the top-scoring female student in E-commerce shows that a diamond cannot shine naturally. To realize its value, each person needs to be polished in an environment that sets high standards, readily provides opportunities, and supports and encourages students to develop their unique identity.
This is also the philosophy "Unleash Your Identity - Illuminate Your Journey" that Dai Nam University persistently pursues. When each student discovers their true potential, studies in an environment rich in experiences, and is inspired by dedicated teachers and a positive peer community, they will have a solid foundation to enter life and create value with their own abilities.
