Unleashing individuality through unexpected choices: The breakthrough journey of the top-scoring female student in Finance and Banking at Dai Nam University, now at MBS.
Some people enter university with a clear goal and steadfastly pursue it to the end. Others only truly find the right path when they dare to step out of their comfort zone. For Do Quynh Nga, the valedictorian of the Finance - Banking program, class of K15, Dai Nam University, her journey of growth is not only marked by a GPA of 3.82 or scientific research awards, but also by the courage to overcome the limitations she set for herself.
Immediately after graduation, Quynh Nga started working at MB Securities Joint Stock Company (MBS) while simultaneously pursuing a Master's degree in Finance and Banking at the University of Economics - Vietnam National University, Hanoi. This journey is a testament to a generation of Dai Nam University students who continuously "Unleash their identity - Illuminate their journey" through their abilities, resilience, and lifelong learning spirit.
Not only is he the top student, but he is also someone who constantly sets new challenges for himself.
From the moment she chose Finance and Banking, Quynh Nga recognized it as a field with many opportunities but also requiring students to continuously update their knowledge and adapt to change. Dai Nam University became her choice because of its highly practical training environment, where students are inspired by the philosophy of "Learning to change" and the spirit of "Education is about illuminating."
Throughout her four years of university, Quynh Nga not only maintained excellent academic performance but also actively participated in scientific research and faculty activities. As the class deputy for academics, she consistently served as a bridge between lecturers and students, fostering a positive learning spirit within the group. The result of these efforts was the title of Valedictorian of the Finance - Banking major, cohort K15, with a GPA of 3.82, along with Second Prize in the university-level student scientific research competition in the 2023-2024 academic year and Third Prize in the 2024-2025 academic year.
The turning point came from a choice that was never part of the plan.
Interestingly, Quỳnh Nga's current job is not the career path she envisioned while still in university.
At one point, Nga refused to join the school's Stock Club Executive Board because she felt the field didn't align with her interests. However, upon entering the workforce after graduation, she discovered her passion for the financial market and investment activities.
Joining MB Securities Joint Stock Company (MBS) immediately after graduation, Quynh Nga simultaneously handles two areas of work: system operations (Back Office) and providing investment consulting support to clients. The job requires the ability to handle situations quickly and accurately, adapt to the constant fluctuations of the market, and always prioritize responsibility towards clients.
That experience helped her realize that sometimes the greatest opportunities come from things you never thought you'd choose.
Learning doesn't stop after a university degree.
After a year of working, Quynh Nga continued her studies, pursuing a Master's degree in Finance and Banking at the University of Economics - Vietnam National University, Hanoi. For her, graduating from university is not the end point, but the beginning of a new learning journey.
Balancing a high-pressure work environment with pursuing a Master's degree presented considerable challenges. However, this process allowed Quynh Nga to continuously update her knowledge, enhance her professional skills, and hone her analytical thinking in the face of financial market fluctuations.
That's also how she realizes the lifelong learning mindset she developed during her years studying at Dai Nam University.
The most valuable thing is daring to step beyond your own limits.
Looking back on her journey, Quynh Nga believes that what Dai Nam University has provided is not only professional knowledge but also a foundation of critical thinking and the resilience to adapt to any work environment.
Courses in finance, macroeconomic analysis, scientific research, along with skills in working under pressure and proactive learning methods, have equipped her to quickly adapt to the securities field – a profession that is constantly changing.
More importantly, Dai Nam University helped her build the belief that people shouldn't confine themselves within pre-existing limitations. It was this openness to new opportunities that helped her discover possibilities she had never considered before.
"Don't limit yourself."
That is the philosophy Quynh Nga always reminds herself of, and it is also a message she wants to send to future generations of students at Dai Nam University.
According to her, university years are not only for accumulating knowledge but also a valuable time to experience, challenge oneself, and discover oneself. Don't rush to conclude whether you are suited to something or not before actually stepping into it and experiencing it.
The journey of the top-scoring female student in Finance and Banking is a clear testament to the message "Unleash your identity - Illuminate your journey." Identity is not only created by excellent grades or outstanding achievements, but also affirmed by a spirit of daring to change, daring to learn, and not limiting oneself. This is also the foundation for every student at Dai Nam University to confidently enter the labor market, adapt to the changes of the times, and continuously develop on the path they have chosen.
