Having been an excellent student for 12 consecutive years and winning third prize twice in the provincial "Startup Project" competition, Nguyen Anh Vu entered the K20 cohort at Dai Nam University carrying a lesson learned from his experiences standing before the judging panel: a good idea still needs to be told the right way so that others understand and accept it.

Nguyen Anh Vu, a K20 student majoring in Multimedia Communication at Dai Nam University, brings his experiences from provincial-level startup projects to the university classroom.

From project presentation to the decision to choose media studies as a major.

During his high school years, in addition to studying, Vu actively sought out activities to gain practical experience.

Having participated in the provincial-level "Startup Project" competition twice in a row, Vũ and his team developed ideas for handmade products and an automatic air purifier – and then directly presented and defended their ideas before the judging panel. What Vũ remembers most is not the competition results, but the preparation process: how to introduce the product and present the idea in a way that the audience could understand its true value.

Nguyen Anh Vu hopes to use his media knowledge to tell stories about the culture, people, and specialties of his hometown, Phu Tho.

"Participating in and successfully defending startup projects has given me the opportunity to gain experience, hone my thinking skills, and especially improve my communication and promotion skills for my own products and ideas."

From those experiences, Vu realized the gap between having a good product and getting the community to know about it.

"I realized that no matter how good an idea is, without effective communication, it's difficult to reach the community."

That's why the male student chose Multimedia Communication as his major. Before enrolling, Vu thoroughly researched the training program and learning environment at the Faculty of Communication, with one specific question in mind: how to transform those initial experiences into real professional skills.

The first year begins with practical "exercises".

Through his presentations and defenses of startup projects, Nguyen Anh Vu realized the role of media in bringing an idea closer to the community.

As soon as he became a K20 student, Vu set three goals: to solidify his knowledge, develop a communication mindset, and master the software and equipment needed for his work.

But university presented an unexpected "assignment": running for class president. After presenting his skills, achievements, and future plans to the class, Vu was trusted and elected as the class president of the 20-03 Youth Development Program.

For the young man, this was his first practical lesson in organization and human connection – an opportunity to hone his leadership and time management skills, while also building a cohesive team and encouraging members to participate in projects and extracurricular activities.

The long-term goal: a media company named after our hometown.

Beyond immediate goals, Vu is thinking about building his own media company. He understands that the journey from a freshman to running a business is a long one, so for now, he chooses to focus on solid learning, extensive practice, and gradual accumulation of experience.

In that long-term plan, his hometown of Phu Tho holds a special place. Vu wants to use his media knowledge to tell the story of the culture, people, and unique products of his hometown in a way that is more accessible to the modern public.

The male student from class K20 was elected class president of the TTDPT 20-03 class by his classmates right from the first days of entering university.

"I hope to build my own media company in the future and contribute to spreading the cultural features and specialties of Phu Tho so that more people will know about them."

From his experiences standing before the panel to defend his startup projects, Vu began to question the power of the media.

Entering the K20 university, I chose to study this major to find the answers for myself – through knowledge, skills, and products I create. And that's also how Vu is preparing for a longer journey: using media to tell stories of his homeland in a new way, so that existing values have the opportunity to be known by more people.
