It was just a thesis defense, but behind it lay six years of unwavering BELIEF.

The trust of parents who have entrusted their children to a very young medical school.

The BELIEF of the first students who dared to choose a new journey, when there were no senior students to look up to.

The BELIEF of the teachers who tirelessly work day and night to build the training program, practice rooms, teaching staff, and learning environment.

And the school's belief in the dream of training doctors who are both highly skilled professionally and possess strong medical ethics.

Today, those BELIEFS are present in every thesis topic, every presentation before the committee, and in the proud eyes of teachers and family.

When the first seeds begin to bloom

Six years ago, the Faculty of Medicine at Dai Nam University welcomed its first students with both high expectations and considerable apprehension, because training doctors has never been an easy journey.

It was a journey filled with intensive training courses, stressful exams, overnight shifts, months of practical training at the hospital, and even moments when you wanted to give up because of the overwhelming pressure…

But as the days went by, those first-year students matured. From being hesitant during their first practical sessions, today they can confidently research, analyze, and defend their scientific projects before a panel of experts.

Each completed thesis is not only the result of knowledge, but also a testament to the perseverance, willpower, and never-give-up spirit of a future doctor. For Dai Nam University, this is also a special milestone. Because after 6 years of persistent development, the first graduates of the Faculty of Medicine are ready to enter society.

The pride of the teachers

Associate Professor, Doctor of Medicine Hoang Duc Hanh - Head of the Faculty of Medicine shared: “Today is not only a joy for the students but also a source of happiness and pride for all the lecturers of the Faculty of Medicine. We have accompanied you from the very beginning, witnessing each student's growth through each course, each practical session, and each exam. You are the first building blocks laying the foundation for the development journey of the Faculty of Medicine at Dai Nam University.”

According to Associate Professor, Doctor of Medicine Hoang Duc Hanh, it is encouraging that the thesis topics all stem from practical experience in medical examination, treatment, and community health care. Many topics demonstrate scientific research capabilities, critical thinking, and the ability to apply specialized knowledge to practice. This is not only a result of the students' learning but also proof of the effectiveness of the theory-practice training model that the Faculty of Medicine at Dai Nam University is pursuing.

Six years to grow up in the medical profession.

For many students, thesis defense day is like a slow-motion replay of their six-year journey through youth.

Student Nguyen Minh Nguyet said emotionally, “On my first day stepping into the lecture hall, I was both excited and anxious because I knew that studying medicine is a very long journey. Over the past six years, there has been a lot of pressure, stressful exams, internships at the hospital, and even times when I wanted to give up. But it was my teachers, family, and friends who helped me continue to this day. Standing before the thesis defense committee, I feel grateful and proud that I didn't give up on my dream.”

For student Pham Giang Viet, the most valuable thing after six years is not just the professional knowledge, but the career experiences that have made him appreciate the medical profession even more.

“My experiences at the hospital helped me understand that doctors don't just treat illnesses with medicine or techniques. More importantly, they know how to listen, empathize, and support patients. That's the biggest lesson I've learned after six years of studying medicine.”

The dream began with love for my mother.

In the thesis defense hall, there were people even more nervous than the students. These were the fathers and mothers who had silently supported their children throughout the past six years.

Sitting quietly and watching her daughter's presentation, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy, a teacher at Luong My Secondary School (Hanoi), could not hide her emotions.

She recounted that many years ago, while tidying her daughter's study area, she accidentally read an essay about her future dreams. In that essay, the little girl had written: "I want to become a doctor to cure my mother's illness."

When I read those words, I cried. My child had never told me that. From that day on, I understood that my child was truly serious about their dream. Today, seeing my child confidently defending their thesis, I feel that all their efforts over the past six years have been worthwhile…” Ms. Thuy said, her voice choked with emotion.

Perhaps, behind every aspiring doctor lies a story like this: a dream nurtured by love; a journey supported by family; and a destination held firm by faith.

Six years ago, these students entered the lecture halls with very simple dreams. Some harbored a love for the white coat. Some nurtured a desire to save lives. Others chose medicine because they wanted to better care for their loved ones.

When the dream of wearing a white blouse is so close

Six years later, those once hesitant faces have become more confident and mature. Each successfully defended thesis is not only the result of months of tireless study, but also a testament to the growth of a future generation of doctors.

For Dai Nam University, this is not just the graduation season for a class. It is also the moment to see the first seeds of the Faculty of Medicine bear fruit; the day when the beliefs and expectations placed upon us six years ago are gradually becoming a reality.

This achievement is the result of the students' efforts, the teachers' dedication, the quiet support of their families, and the school's unwavering aspiration to train highly skilled, ethical, and responsible medical professionals.
