K20, from today onwards, university is in the "present tense".

On the morning of September 7th, thousands of new students of the K20 cohort officially began their first classes at Dai Nam University (DNU).

From today, university is no longer something to be discussed in the words "later." University is in the present. It's a new lecture hall, new teachers, new friends, a different way of learning, and a mix of excitement and apprehension as you realize that from here on, you'll have to make many decisions for yourself.

University offers young people more freedom, but along with that freedom comes something even more important: responsibility for their own choices.

Minh Tâm, a student majoring in Human Resource Management at the Faculty of Business Administration and Marketing, shared: “Although I'm still quite unfamiliar with the new learning environment, the first few classes at university have been very different and interesting experiences. I'm gradually getting used to the new learning methods, the professors, and my classmates.”

FROM TODAY, K20 STUDENTS BEGIN LEARNING TO WALK ON THEIR OWN.

In high school, most of the study schedule is already set, but in university, there will be many things that are no longer reminded daily. Students in their 2020s will have to manage their time independently, study on their own without supervision, choose their own clubs, groups of friends, or experiences, pick themselves up after a setback, and gradually take responsibility for their own future.

In the early days, K20 students won't have to manage everything on their own. Homeroom teachers, departments, and units of the university will support them in understanding the curriculum, learning methods, knowing who to turn to for assistance, and gradually adapting to the new environment.

But this support is not meant to do things for them. The ultimate goal is to help each student become capable of walking independently.

YOUTH AT DNU WILL NOT BE JUST ABOUT THE LECTURE HALLS

Ahead of K20 are more than just subjects and exams. There will be a club that will help you discover previously unknown abilities, a friend whose name you don't know today but who could become your best friend in a few years, your first project, your first internship, or your first job interview.

There will be times when things don't go well, times when you feel uncertain about your chosen field, and perhaps days when you ask yourself, "What kind of person do I really want to become?"

It's okay if you don't have the answer today, because university isn't just about learning what's in the textbook. It's also a time to experiment, to encounter challenges, to adjust, and gradually understand yourself.

STUDY ONE FIELD, BUT PREPARE FOR A LIFE

From their first year, K20 students will gradually approach their chosen profession through learning with lecturers, meeting experts and businesses, gaining practical experience, and then participating in internships.

Professional knowledge is fundamental, but to enter the job market, you also need to accumulate foreign language skills, technological proficiency, communication skills, teamwork abilities, problem-solving skills, and adaptability.

Four years may seem long, but four years will fly by. One day, K20 might not remember which desk they sat at on the morning of September 7th, what their first class was, or who the first person sitting next to them was.

But hopefully, looking back, you'll realize that it was from those hesitant days that you began to learn, make your own choices, take responsibility, and gradually become the person you wanted to be.

On September 7, 2026, the university officially enters the “present tense”.
