2. Formation and development process

On November 14, 2007, the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 1535/QD-TTg on the establishment of Dai Nam University.

In 2019, Dai Nam University was officially authorized by the Ministry of Education and Training to autonomously teach National Defense and Security Education to all students of the school.

In addition to training in professional knowledge, soft skills and foreign languages, Dai Nam University especially values training and education in National Defense - Security for students.

Therefore, in recent years, the school has paid attention to the work of National Defense and Security Education and has cooperated with units such as: National Defense and Security Center of Hanoi National University, National Defense and Security Center 2 - Hanoi Command, Faculty of National Defense Education - Army Officer School 1, ensuring quality and safety.

Starting from 2019, students of all training systems of Dai Nam University will study National Defense and Security right at the main campus with a team of experienced lecturers and modern facilities that are considered the best today.

However, to make it more convenient and create the best conditions for students to study National Defense and Security Education, there is nothing better than studying right at school, taught by their own teachers. With that determination, the Board of Directors and the Board of Management have made every effort, no matter how costly, to build facilities (equipment, training grounds, dormitories for students); train and develop a sufficient and qualified source of permanent lecturers and staff, to best meet the teaching and learning needs of staff and students...

With the support of the Department of National Defense Education, the Ministry of Education and Training as well as other units, on October 11, 2019, the Minister of Education and Training officially signed Official Dispatch No. 4663/BGDĐT-QPAN agreeing to let Dai Nam University be an autonomous unit to organize teaching, evaluate learning outcomes and grant National Defense Education certificates to students of the School from the 2019-2020 school year.

Besides professional knowledge, soft skills and foreign languages, Dai Nam University especially values training and education in National Defense - Security for students.

4. Facilities:

- Models of weapons, equipment and military supplies to meet the training needs of 02 companies at the same time (300 students/session)

5. Functions and tasks of the unit

5.1. Functions

The Department of National Defense Education has the function of organizing and implementing training tasks according to the approved detailed program of the subject of National Defense and Security Education; Organizing extracurricular activities, human development, military science and technology research. Advising the Board of Directors, Party Cell, and School Board on military work, local defense, militia and self-defense forces, and selecting reserve officers according to the orders of superiors assigned to the School; managing the Department's staff, training and fostering lecturers and participating in the education and training of students.

Dai Nam University students are able to study and practice knowledge about national defense and security in the best conditions.

5.2. Tasks

* Training activities:

The department is assigned to teach the subject: National Defense and Security Education according to the program of the Ministry of Education and Training for the regular University and College training system, and Intermediate level to University.

Ensure that at the end of the course, students have sufficient knowledge of national defense and security and can be ready to go when the Fatherland needs them.

Dai Nam University students are excited about the subject of National Defense and Security Education.

* Mission:

- Propose and develop detailed curriculum for assigned subjects and modules suitable for training systems.

- Propose, compile, re-compile textbooks, teaching materials, learning materials, and lectures related to the Department's subjects.

- Organize the implementation of the teaching plan assigned by the School: Assign appropriate teaching, ensure training quality, and follow the schedule in the program and plan approved by the School.

- Update and innovate teaching methods suitable for each training subject. Organize observation of lecturers' lectures, collect learners' opinions and evaluations of lecturers.

- Assess learners' learning outcomes in accordance with current regulations: Build and update test banks, determine assessment methods, access advanced assessment methods to ensure accuracy and objectivity, organize assessment, and manage and store learning outcomes well.

- Participate in student education and training, and enrollment work according to the requirements of the School.

- Advise the Board of Directors on military work, local defense, militia and reserve officer selection according to orders from superiors assigned to the School.

- Develop training goals and development directions of the School and industry in the following years.

- Participate in union activities and other tasks assigned by the School.
