From the lecture hall of Dai Nam University: "Special" exercise makes students look back at themselves
Right from the first semester, first-year students of Dai Nam University (DNU) were "touched" with a special challenge in the Basic Soft Skills course: designing "DNUer's Profile - Life Profile".

While a normal “profile” only tells about one's name, interests or dreams, “DNUer's Profile” is a journey of self-discovery, where each student dialogues with themselves through the following questions:
- Who am I?
- What kind of person do I want to be?
- What do I need to prepare to achieve that?
“Life Profile” - The journey to understand yourself to grow up
Through this activity, students are guided to build a personal SWOT matrix, draw a life wheel, determine short-term, medium-term, and long-term goals, and create a specific action plan. This is not only a skill-building exercise, but also the first step to help students shape their own values, determine their career direction, and practice critical and creative thinking - indispensable skills for young people in the digital age.
MSc. Nguyen Thi Thuy - Head of the Department of Training and Soft Skills Development shared: “ We want students to not only learn to know, but also to understand themselves - to live with a clear direction and goals. 'DNUer's Profile' is the first product to help students look back and plan their own personal and career development path.”
This year's K19 students' products demonstrate creativity, diversity and seriousness - from storytelling through images and charts to profound sharing about dreams, efforts and life values.
“Every student has their own story – the important thing is that they dare to write, dare to tell and dare to be true to themselves” - MSc. Nguyen Thi Thuy, Head of the Faculty of Training and Soft Skills Development, Dai Nam University
Learn to master yourself - Learn to live with purpose
For Dai Nam students, "DNUer's Profile" is not just a test, but the first step in the journey to adulthood.
Tran Ngoc Diep – a student of YDK 1901 class shared: “Making a 'Life Profile' made me really look back at myself. I realized that I had never written down my dreams in detail before. When I did that, I understood more clearly the path I needed to take.”
From an exercise, young people learn how to understand themselves, orient their careers, manage their emotions and develop themselves proactively - in the spirit of liberal education that Dai Nam University pursues.
“From a small exercise, I learned how to listen to myself, set clear goals and no longer be afraid to start" - Nguyen Thi Thanh Phuong, student of TCNH 1901, shared after completing DNUer's Profile
Education is a journey together – no one is left behind
Sharing more about the assessment method, MSc. Nguyen Thi Thuy emphasized: “Scores are not the destination. What we care about is whether students really change, become more confident and mature after each semester. When they know how to work in groups, know how to listen, know how to set goals and act towards them – that is the success of Dai Nam education.”
From the philosophy of “For the dedicated learner”, each teacher always accompanies, listens and inspires students to discover their own potential. It is this dynamic learning environment, respecting differences, that has created the very unique identity of Dai Nam students: confident – courageous – dare to think – dare to do – dare to dream and pursue to the end.
Pham Van Quyen – a student of class TT 1913 emotionally shared: “Before, I was afraid of speaking in front of a crowd, afraid of being judged. But thanks to the Basic Soft Skills course, I learned how to listen, confidently express myself and believe in the path I have chosen.”
From the first classes to creative projects, Dai Nam University students are writing their own story of growth every day – strong, proactive and inspired.
