Nearly 200 students from the Faculty of Tourism, Dai Nam University, have officially crossed a significant threshold: leaving the lecture halls to enter the real working environment in the third semester of the 2025-2026 academic year. This is not a typical internship. This is a phase where learning continues through practical work.

Students don't wait until graduation to access employment. Even during their studies, they are placed in a real-world work environment, directly participating in the operation, service, and organization of tourism services. From there, a career is no longer a concept, but becomes a concrete, tangible, and verifiable experience.

Practical training is not an option, but a principle.

The student placement program reflects the university's consistent approach: training must be closely linked to practice, especially in service-related fields.

Dr. Ngo Quang Duy - Head of the Tourism Department, Dai Nam University.

Dr. Ngo Quang Duy, Head of the Tourism Department, stated: “For the tourism and hospitality industry, the working environment is the most effective training ground. Students need to be placed in real-world situations as early as possible to hone their professional skills, work ethic, and adaptability. If they only study in the classroom, they will find it difficult to fully grasp the requirements of the job.”

According to Dr. Ngo Quang Duy, getting hands-on experience during their studies not only helps students accumulate experience, but more importantly, it shortens the gap between training and the actual needs of businesses.

Each position is a real "on-the-job" experience.

During their internship, students are assigned to specific roles, ranging from hotel operations and accommodation service management to practical tour guiding.

The difference lies not in the job categories, but in the implementation: students don't stand on the sidelines observing, but directly participate in the operational process, working according to company standards and taking responsibility for their assigned tasks.

It is during this process that learners develop a service-oriented mindset, problem-solving skills, and professional competence – qualities that cannot be acquired through theoretical learning alone.

Studying in a business environment - a competitive advantage for students.

Students are accepted into many reputable businesses in the tourism and hospitality sector such as Daiichi Group, Halo Eco, Onsen Fuji, Flamingo, Tuan Chau, Ambassador Cruise, Silk Path, A25 hotel system, etc.

“Collaborating with high-standard businesses not only helps students access a professional working environment, but also allows the university to continuously update its curriculum to meet the practical requirements of the industry,” emphasized Dr. Ngo Quang Duy.

Beyond simply accepting internships, many businesses partner with the university with a clear commitment to training and developing human resources. Internship participants receive direct guidance from management teams, are assigned specific tasks, undergo regular evaluations, and have the opportunity to continue working full-time if they meet the requirements.

Mr. Pham Van Diep, Head of Human Resources at Onsen Fuji Group Joint Stock Company, stated that the company does not consider interns as a temporary support force, but rather as a potential human resource that needs to be invested in and screened.

"We are ready to train, guide, and create opportunities for your long-term development if you demonstrate the competence and attitude suitable for the profession," Mr. Pham Van Diep shared.

At the company, students work as real employees and are evaluated based on practical operational criteria. This is not only a training environment but also the first screening step, helping businesses proactively approach and select quality human resources even while they are still in school.

Nearly 200 students from the Faculty of Tourism, Dai Nam University, have officially crossed a significant threshold: leaving the lecture halls to enter the real-world work environment.

A seamless journey from study to career.

From the way Dai Nam University organizes its training, learning doesn't end in the classroom, but is continued through controlled professional experience. Students don't enter the labor market with a trial-and-error mindset, but with a foundation that has been honed, tested, and proven.

The journey from the classroom to the workplace is therefore no longer a sudden transition, but a purposefully designed process that begins very early and continues throughout the entire training program.
