In the context of constantly evolving higher education, Dai Nam University clearly defines that the quality of education begins with the quality of its faculty. To provide effective education, teachers not only need strong expertise but must first and foremost understand their working environment, their students, and empathize with the values the university pursues. Therefore, building and spreading the Dai Nam University culture is considered a core foundation in the university's sustainable development strategy.

Instead of pursuing mere scale, Dai Nam University steadfastly chooses a path of in-depth development – human development – development based on genuine values, aiming towards a modern, applied university model that puts learners at the center.

Understanding the school culture - The first step for a lecturer at Dai Nam University.

At Dai Nam University, culture is not just a slogan, but a system of values formed from the practical experience of teaching, managing, and accompanying students over many years.

That is:

- A learner-centered approach

- Dedication, responsibility, and kindness in teaching.

- Humane treatment of teachers and students

- Long-term partnership rather than just imparting knowledge.

During its rapid development, in just six months, Dai Nam University welcomed 140 new staff members, lecturers, and employees, bringing the total number of personnel to nearly 1,500. This is not only an increase in quantity but also highlights the urgent need for unified understanding, culture, and educational philosophy throughout the entire system.

The workshop "Skills for Understanding and Supporting Gen Z," led by Ms. Cao Thi Hoa - Vice President of the School Board, is being implemented for the second time in six months.

Educational thinking focuses on the holistic development of learners.

The school believes that a good lecturer is not only judged by their academic rank and degree, but also by their ability to understand students and integrate into the school's overall culture.

Dai Nam University is an environment with students from many different regions and socio-economic backgrounds. This diversity requires lecturers to:

- Understanding student psychology at each stage of development.

- Understanding regional characteristics and family culture

- Understanding the pressures related to academics, finances, and career paths.

- I understand my role is not just that of a teacher, but also that of a guide, a companion, and a source of emotional support.

Because education cannot apply a rigid model. Only through understanding can teachers teach correctly, effectively, and efficiently.

Stemming from the practical needs of faculty and staff, Ms. Cao Thi Hoa systematized the topic into a handbook titled "Understanding to Love - Teaching to Grow," contributing to teaching and spreading the culture of Dai Nam University.

Regular training - A fundamental aspect of Dai Nam University's culture.

Based on this understanding, Dai Nam University maintains regular training programs in professional skills, expertise, and school culture, especially for new staff and lecturers.

The training content focuses on:

- The culture and educational philosophy of Dai Nam University

- Characteristics of students in the current context

- Skills in teaching, classroom management, and handling pedagogical situations.

- The role of instructors in supporting learners.

The training sessions are not merely ceremonial, but directly address practical issues, helping instructors overcome difficulties, share experiences, and collectively improve their teaching methods.

In particular, the workshop "Skills for Understanding and Supporting Gen Z," directly presented by Ms. Cao Thi Hoa – Vice Chairperson of the School Board, was held for the second time in just 6 months, demonstrating the leadership's deep concern for staff development and educational culture.

The book "Understanding to Love - Teaching to Grow," which she authored, has also become a foundational resource, helping faculty and staff to internalize and realize the philosophy of "Dedicated Service to the Learner."

The dedication of the leader - Spreading sustainable values.

During her sharing sessions, Ms. Cao Thi Hoa always emphasized: "For lecturers to teach well, they must first understand their students. To gain students' trust, teachers must be compassionate. And for the university to develop sustainably, every staff member and lecturer must consider Dai Nam University as their common home to preserve and nurture together."

These simple yet profound insights have become a guiding principle in the training and management of the staff, clearly demonstrating the humanistic educational philosophy that Dai Nam University steadfastly pursues.

Spreading from the unanimous consensus of the faculty

Beyond simply delivering content, training sessions at Dai Nam University are organized in a format of direct exchange, evaluation, and feedback, thereby helping the university fully record the perspectives, level of understanding, and consensus of the faculty.

The training session provided a space for staff and instructors to share their genuine feelings about the program's value.

100% of participating lecturers had access to the content, engaged in frank discussions, and demonstrated a high degree of agreement with the direction and policies that the school is implementing.

This is not just a shared understanding, but also clear support in action and a commitment to long-term partnership.

Through these training sessions, the teaching staff demonstrated a deeper understanding of:

- The educational philosophy of Dai Nam University

- Psychological characteristics, needs, and real-world pressures faced by students.

- The role of the lecturer in a student-centered university model

The candid feedback from faculty members across the units demonstrates a high level of consensus and a willingness to collaborate with the University:

Ms. Nguyen Phuong Thao, M.Sc. – Department of Basic English, shared: “ Ms. Hoa’s analysis helped me better understand the characteristics of students in each major group, allowing me to adjust my approach and teaching accordingly. This is very practical and necessary content for lecturers.”

Ms. Nguyen Thu Hien, M.Sc. – Faculty of Medicine, emotionally stated: “ The training session was not only professional but also gave me more motivation for my career, helping me to appreciate the path I am pursuing even more.”

Ms. Nguyen Bao Hue, M.Sc. – Center for Psychological Counseling & Support, commented: "This workshop helped me better understand the psychology of Dai Nam University students as well as the university culture, thereby enabling me to provide more effective support to both students and colleagues."

Ms. Do Thi Thu Phuong, M.Sc. – Faculty of Business Administration & Marketing, expressed: “I am particularly impressed with the vision of building a 'Happy University'. This is not just a slogan, but a profound direction that is directly implemented and exemplified by the Leadership Board.”

Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Van, M.Sc. – Faculty of Economics & Management, shared with great enthusiasm: “This training session helped me deeply understand the value of empathy. Regardless of their position, lecturers need to be 'competent and steadfast' to truly accompany students.”

Building the Dai Nam University brand starts with its people.

For Dai Nam University, the brand is not built solely on facilities or training scale, but is nurtured from:

- Dedicated teaching staff

- Humanistic educational culture

- Enduring support for learners

At Dai Nam University, teachers are not just present at the lectern; they always listen, understand, and support students like friends.

Through regular training and professional development activities, the university is gradually affirming its image as a student-centered university that prioritizes human development and pursues sustainable growth based on genuine values.

This also serves as the foundation for Dai Nam University to continue affirming its position in the Vietnamese higher education system, while building strong trust among parents, students, and society.
