Dai Nam University officially welcomes Associate Professor Dr. Do Mai Hoa to the position of Head of the Department of Preventive Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, effective April 2026. With nearly 30 years of experience in public health and medical personnel training, Associate Professor Dr. Do Mai Hoa is expected to contribute to improving the quality of general practitioner training and promoting the development of competency-based medical education (CBME) programs at Dai Nam University.

Associate Professor Dr. Do Mai Hoa graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine from Hanoi Medical University, a Master of Public Health from Emory University (USA), and a PhD from Queensland University of Technology (Australia). Prior to joining Dai Nam University, she had over 20 years of experience teaching, researching, and managing training at the School of Public Health, while also collaborating with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and numerous domestic and international organizations in public health training and capacity building for the health system.

Dai Nam University officially welcomes Associate Professor Dr. Do Mai Hoa to assume the position of Head of the Department of Preventive Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, starting in April 2026.

From 2018 to 2025, Associate Professor Dr. Do Mai Hoa participated in managing the residency program innovation component of the USAID-funded IMPACT-MED Project. With technical support from experts at Harvard Medical School, this project supported 10 Vietnamese medical universities in innovating their medical training based on competency-based mechanization (CBME), a model widely applied to enhance the professional practice capabilities of doctors.

People's Physician, Associate Professor, Dr. Hoang Duc Hanh - Head of the Faculty of Medicine, Dai Nam University, commented: “The participation of Associate Professor, Dr. Do Mai Hoa is an important addition to the faculty of the Faculty of Medicine. With her experience in training and international cooperation, she will contribute to improving the quality of training and expanding the academic and research activities of the Faculty, contributing to the overall development of Dai Nam University.”

Associate Professor Dr. Do Mai Hoa has officially joined the Faculty of Medicine at Dai Nam University.

Upon assuming her new role, Associate Professor Dr. Do Mai Hoa expressed her desire to work with the Faculty of Medicine to develop competency-based medical education programs (CBME) and strengthen the role of preventive medicine and public health in doctor training. According to her, in the current context, doctors need not only strong clinical expertise but also a preventative mindset, an understanding of the community, and a commitment to improving people's health.

The addition of Associate Professor Dr. Do Mai Hoa marks a new stage of development for the Faculty of Medicine, Dai Nam University, in its orientation towards innovative training in a practical, modern, and internationally integrated direction, aiming to train a team of doctors and medical personnel with comprehensive capabilities to meet the healthcare needs of society.
