2018 National High School Exam candidates are exempted from exam fees

Free exam for candidates taking the 2018 National High School Exam

All candidates participating in the 2018 National High School Exam do not have to pay exam service fees, including registering for additional subjects for university and college admission, as stated in Official Dispatch 1219/BGDĐT-KHTC dated March 29, 2018 of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Official dispatch 1219/BGDĐT-KHTC provides guidance on funding for the 2018 National High School Exam and the collection of service fees for enrollment in intermediate and college levels of regular teacher training programs and regular university programs in 2018. Accordingly, the dispatch clearly states:

- Free exam for candidates taking the 2018 high school exam

+ Departments of education and training do not collect exam service fees for all candidates taking the National High School Exam from 2018 (including students registering for additional subjects for university and college admission).

+ The local budget allocates funds to organize the exam and funds to pay for officials and lecturers mobilized by the Ministry of Education and Training to the locality to participate in organizing the exam. The payment level is according to Circular 40/2017/TT-BTC of the Ministry of Finance regulating the regime of business trip expenses and conference expenses.

+ Based on the ability to balance with the local budget, the People's Council of the province or centrally-run city shall decide on the specific level of support, ensuring transportation or supporting travel expenses for students taking exams at inter-school exam locations far from the students' homes.

- To register for each wish, candidates must pay 30,000 VND.

+ The price of the 2018 intermediate teacher training college, pedagogical college, and university entrance exam service using the results of the national high school exam is as follows: To stabilize the psychology of students and parents, and avoid disruptions in the entrance exams for intermediate teacher training colleges, pedagogical colleges, and full-time universities, the price of the 2018 intermediate teacher training college, pedagogical college, and full-time universities entrance exam service using the results of the national high school exam continues to remain stable as in 2017 at 30,000 VND/application.

+ Price level for preliminary selection services, organization of competency assessment exams or aptitude tests combined with the use of national high school exam results or admission based on high school academic results: Educational institutions proactively build appropriate admission service prices, not charging too high to affect the psychology of parents and students and avoid disruption during admission periods. Implement price posting, publicize information on admission service prices and must not charge higher than the listed price.
