DNU "fighter" receives "rain" of medals at the 2022 Student Karate Championship

Competing with 23 universities, academies and colleges in Hanoi, the student athletes of Dai Nam University (DNU) competed with all their might, leaving a beautiful image of honest and noble competitive spirit, dedicating to the audience good moves and beautiful matches; excellently bringing home 01 Silver Medal and 07 Bronze Medals.

Identifying health as the most valuable asset of human beings, Dai Nam University always focuses on investing and innovating physical education training programs according to the criteria: "In line with trends; in line with the interests and desires of 18 and 20 year olds" to increase interest in learning, create lifelong training habits; aiming for comprehensive and long-term development for students "to study, work, live, be healthy, and be creative".
Instead of studying traditional subjects that are a “nightmare” for students such as: Athletics, high jump, long jump, volleyball... DNU students can choose their favorite sports such as Yoga, Zumba, Martial Arts to practice. In addition, students can practice and improve their physical fitness at the school's clubs such as: Karate Club, Football Club, Badminton Club, Basketball Club... During the time participating in the club, young people will have the opportunity to participate in major tournaments for students.
DNU students excel in winning 8 medals at Student Karate Championship
Recently, the mighty "warriors" of the DNU Karate Club participated in the 2022 Hanoi Regional Karate Championship for Students of Universities, Academies and Colleges. The tournament attracted 241 athletes competing in 32 events.
Dai Nam University started with a high spirit of determination.
By participating in this tournament, DNU Karate Club hopes to promote the spirit of sports competition, physical training, improve physical strength, and contribute to the comprehensive development of "Intelligence - Strength" in students. This is also an opportunity for the University's students to meet and exchange with professional athletes and students with the same passion for martial arts from Universities, Academies and Colleges in Hanoi.
With a martial spirit, determination, and dedication in every match, the students of DNU Karate Club have excellently won 8 medals; including 01 Silver medal and 07 Bronze medals.
Specifically, in the individual Kumite category, athlete Nguyen Van Kha won the Silver Medal in the 65kg weight class; athletes Can Thi Thao Nguyen and Nguyen Thuy Linh won the Bronze Medal in the 63kg weight class; athlete Tran Thi Thu Lan won the Bronze Medal in the 58kg weight class. The Bronze Medal in the women's team Kumite category went to athletes: Nguyen Thuy Linh, Phung Mai Linh, Tran Thi Thu Lan, Nguyen Hai Yen.

Winning a medal for the first time at a major, professional tournament for students, Can Thi Thao Nguyen - IT class 14.04 could not hide her happiness.

“I would like to thank the coaches who spent time and effort teaching, correcting each movement, and “solving” each situation during the competition so that we can gain experience and confidently step onto the big stage. I would also like to thank the School Board for supporting the Club with funding and a gym for us to practice. Thank you to the School Youth Union for always being close, directly coming to cheer and support the Karate Club. This year we have not “harvested gold”, but we will definitely win the championship next year…”, Thao Nguyen affirmed.
