Dai Nam University establishes a comprehensive partnership with Ha Dong General Hospital to provide training for students in the Healthcare sector

"In their clinical practice, students must be present at the hospital in the morning and work evening shifts. That was the affirmation of Dr. Dao Thien Tien - Director of Ha Dong General Hospital at the comprehensive cooperation Signing Ceremony between Dai Nam University and Ha Dong General Hospital on June 22.

Attending the Signing Ceremony, from Dai Nam University there were: Dr. Le Dac Son - the Chairman of the University Council; the Governing Board; representatives from Offices, Departments, Faculties, Schools and Centers; the Dean, lecturers and staff of the Faculty of Medicine.

On the side of Ha Dong General Hospital there were: Dr. Dao Thien Tien - the Hospital Director; Dr. Nguyen Van Thang - the Deputy Hospital Director; Dr. Le Hoang Tu - the Deputy Hospital Director, and the Heads of the Hospital's specialized Departments.

Strengthening the Hospital-University Relationship

Speaking at the Signing Ceremony, Dr. Le Dac Son emphasized the significance of clinical internships for students in the Healthcare sector as a decisive factor in the quality of their outcomes. Consequently, Dai Nam University always prioritized providing the best internship environment for students; focusing on real learning experiences & practical exposure to patients; offering the opportunity to work as official medical staff during clinical internships at the hospital.

Dr. Le Dac Son affirmed that Dai Nam University highly values the cooperation with the Hospital, aiming to foster mutual development

"With the signed cooperation agreement, we trust that Ha Dong General Hospital will provide the best conditions for students' internships and experiences; considering students of Dai Nam University as part of their own family to nurture and educate them into knowledgeable and skilled professionals.."

Dr. Dao Thien Tien stated that: Ha Dong General Hospital is a first-class city-level General Hospital with nearly 1.000 hospital beds and a nearly 100-year history. The Hospital has all the clinical and paraclinical Departments with a modern system of equipment and a team of skilled and experienced medical doctors who always support the training of the next generation. When interning at the Hospital, DNU-ers will directly receive training from the Departments, ensuring professional guidance and practical exposure to medical examination and treatment, as well as hands-on experience on patients.

"We commit to supporting students from Dai Nam University to the fullest during their clinical internships; including the provision of a team of guiding doctors and systematic training. The Hospital also offers office space for the Healthcare sector of the University to facilitate student training and strengthen the Hospital-University relationship", emphasized Dr. Dao Thien Tien.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Duc Hanh - the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine stated that: With the signed Cooperation Agreement, Ha Dong General Hospital will become the primary practical training facility for students in the Healthcare sector at Dai Nam University, along with other leading partner hospitals such as: Bach Mai Hospital, Viet Duc Hospital, National Children's Hospital, National Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, Xanh-Pon Hospital, etc.,

Dai Nam University and Ha Dong General Hospital will collaborate in organizing training programs and technical transfer for their staff and lecturers

Specifically, Dai Nam University will cooperate with the Hospital to provide Certificates in pedagogical skills, medical pedagogical methods, and clinical teaching methods for the Hospital's staff, ensuring they meet the standards required to serve as practical instructors. The University will also involve Hospital staff in the development of training programs, teaching activities, and scientific research collaborations.

Both parties agreed to support each other in Healthcare services and jointly organize specialized conferences.

How to become a student in the Healthcare sector at Dai Nam University in 2023?

For the academic year 2023-2024, Dai Nam University will admit students for the formal undergraduate programs in General Medicine (major code: 7720101), Pharmacy (major code: 7720201), and Nursing (major code: 7720301) based on 04 admission methods.

Method 1: Selection based on the National High School Exam results of 03 subjects registered for admission.

Applicants with exam scores that meet the minimum standard threshold set by the University after the announcement of the High school graduation exam results in 2023, except for the Healthcare programs with specific criteria set by the Ministry of Education and Training.

Method 2: Selection based on Grade 12’s transcripts of the 03 subjects registered for admission

For admission to General Medicine & Pharmacy, applicants are required to ensure Grade 12 academic performance ranked from “Very good" or High school graduation assessment score from 8.0, combined with the total score of 03 subjects from 24.

For admission to Nursing, applicants are required to ensure Grade 12 academic performance ranked from “Good” or High school graduation assessment score from 6.5, combined with the total score of 03 subjects from 19.5.

For admission to other majors: The minimum total score of 03 subjects is 18. 

Method 3: Direct admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and the specific regulations of Dai Nam University

Method 4: Admission for candidates graduated from International High schools

Admission major: General Medicine (50 quota) 

In addition to the general requirements, candidates applying for this admission method must meet the following mandatory conditions:

- Candidates must have completed High school education either in foreign countries or in Vietnam.

- Candidates must have a GPA of 7.0 or higher in the 12th grade.

- For foreign students studying in other languages other than Vietnamese, they must comply with Article 5 and Article 6 of Circular No. 30/TT-BGDĐT dated December 24, 2018, issued by the Minister of Education and Training, regarding the management of foreign students studying in Vietnam.
