In the joyous celebration of the 17th anniversary of Dai Nam University's founding and the 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20), “Dai Nam Homecoming" event was organized with great significance. Hundreds of alumni from across the country returned to their beloved university, carrying with them treasured memories and deep affection, making the occasion truly memorable.

Returning to visit one’s respected university is a journey back to the roots of love and fond memories—a place that holds the vibrant days of youth and countless heartfelt sentiments. It is where the most radiant years of life are deeply imprinted, filled with cherished memories of youth. It is also an opportunity to express gratitude to teachers, reflect with pride on past achievements, and reconnect with old companions. No matter where life takes you, your university will always be the starting point of dreams and aspirations.

To welcome its returning alumni, Dai Nam University has prepared a warm exhibition space, recreating moments of youth and showcasing proud accomplishments. Each photo not only brings back memories of those bright and unforgettable days but also conveys the heartfelt affection of teachers, allowing alumni to feel a sense of appreciation and warmth upon their return. It serves as a gentle reminder: “Dai Nam will always be a second home in the hearts of everyone.”

The heartfelt words of the head of the university – a respected teacher figure to generations of DNU students.

At the event, Dr. Le Dac Son – Chairman of the University Council – overwhelmed with emotion, he struggled to find the right words when encountering alumni from various generations, the "children" of Dai Nam University. It was a truly gratifying moment to witness the success and well-being of these individuals, a testament to the university's mission of cultivating not only skilled professionals but also responsible citizens.

“Thank you for selecting Dai Nam University as your second home, where you entrusted your formative years, where we nurtured growth, fostered knowledge, and laid the foundation for your future aspirations..”

“As teachers, the greatest happiness comes from witnessing our students' success in life and their careers, as well as their ability to contribute meaningful value to the community.”.

Dr. Le Dac Son shared: "For the past 17 years, I have always been deeply concerned with one thing: how to build Dai Nam University into a source of pride for generations of students. With the motto 'Each drop, each drop will form an ocean,' I constantly remind myself to be patient and persistent. One day, not far from now, this university will shine, and future generations of students will proudly say: 'I am a student of Dai Nam University.'"

Dr. Le Dac Son hopes that the alumni will continue to mature and achieve success in their chosen fields after graduation.

"Whether you are successful or facing challenges, always remember that Dai Nam will remain a strong support. If you can return to contribute to the university, it will be a great honor. And if you ever need help, Dai Nam will always be here, ready to support you like a beloved family."

Reviving youth through melodies, films, and a gala of memories

The program continued to take alumni "back in time," reliving the glorious years of youth at Dai Nam through the melody of "Walking Under a Bright Sky" and a film showcasing the 17-year journey of the university's development.

The "Gala of Memories" continued the emotional journey as alumni participated in games and shared memorable stories. This event reflected the deep affection that generations of students hold for their teachers and old university.

Pride in the University’s Growth

Ms. Le Thi Thu Hang, a graduate of the Faculty of Accounting (Class K2), expressed: "Dai Nam University has changed significantly. The buildings are more modern and the facilities are greatly improved. However, the core values of the university have always been preserved. These values include unity, creativity, and a continuous drive for excellence."

Nguyen Hang Nga, a graduate of the K3 class in the Faculty of Banking and Finance, shared: "Dai Nam University is now completely different from what I once knew. I remember that the library used to have only a few shelves, but now it has become a modern resource center with full amenities, meeting all the study needs of students. The training programs are also continuously updated, equipping students with the knowledge and skills necessary to face life’s challenges. I am very proud to have studied and trained in such a dynamic and creative environment. I hope the university will continue to grow and become one of the leading universities in Vietnam."

Trinh Duc Thanh, a graduate of the K12 class in the Faculty of Tourism, expressed: "Dai Nam University is not only a place that provided me with knowledge, but also a home where I felt the sincere love and care from teachers and friends. Dai Nam helped me grow, and because of that, I always wish to return to visit my teachers friends..."

Trieu Thi My Hanh, a graduate of the K3 class in the Faculty of Banking and Finance, a researcher at the Institute of Policy and Strategy for Agriculture and Rural Development, and a member of the Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (Term VIII), shared: "The teaching of Dr. Le Dac Son, 'The older generation supports the younger generation,' has always been deeply etched in our minds, motivating us to return and support the next generation, working together to build a sustainable and connected Dai Nam student community."

Phạm Thị Dung, Director of the Student Employment and Entrepreneurship Center, said: "In just one year, the DNU Alumni network has created strong connections with alumni nationwide. The alumni not only return with a strong sense of belonging but also actively assist current students in finding job opportunities. Many alumni, who are holding key roles in businesses, have directly recruited Dai Nam students. In particular, several alumni have connected businesses with the university, opening up practical collaboration opportunities."

Pham Thi Dung stated: "The center will make every effort to connect, develop, and further expand the Dai Nam University alumni network."

Representatives of the University’s Board of Directors presented membership cards for the DNU Alumni network to the new members.

The Ceremony May Have Ended, But the Journey Continues

The ceremony has concluded, but the journey of each alumni under the roof of Dai Nam University will never stop. Dai Nam will always be a home for alumni to return to, share, and continue pursuing their dreams. No matter how far they go, in each of their hearts, the words will always resonate: "Dai Nam – the place I belong."
