A young man studied medicine but lived a youth "unlike medicine"
There is a type of medical student that everyone is used to thinking of: " wearing glasses, hugging books, living in the lab and having no youth". And then there will be people who make you have to revise that definition. Like the K15 medical student, Dai Nam University - Nguyen Duc Huong. Not the "white-shirted bookworm" type, nor the "show-off" type. Huong is simply someone who wants to do more than what traditional medicine expects: studying hard - living to the fullest - and creating value in his own way.

Communicate with enthusiasm, but learn with discipline.
People who met Huong for the first time all said the same thing: “He is really funny. But when he enters the practice room… he changes 180 degrees.” Huong has youthful energy and enthusiasm, but in every clinical class at the hospital, he is always focused, careful, and does not allow himself to be careless about even the smallest detail. Perhaps because he understands that: Medicine is not just about learning to know, but about learning to be responsible.

During his studies, the young man was always serious about every practical hour at the hospital with his teachers.
Don't consider yourself "good" but your achievements are amazing
Not bragging, not self-promoting, but if you look at Duc Huong's journey, you will understand why he stands out:
1. With teammates, entered the Top 30 of the National Medical Competition
2. Vietnamese Delegate at the Asia-Pacific Regional Conference (APRM) - Bangkok 2024
3. Participate in many communities and research projects on students in the Health & LGBT community
4. Participate in a sex education project to help 1,000+ students in mountainous areas access the right knowledge
5. Top 3 Social Innovation Launch 2024 with MedDoDo project
But the special thing is: Duc Huong doesn’t do it for the sake of achievement. He does it out of curiosity, passion, and because he feels he needs to do it. A very “Gen Z” style, but also very responsible.

Duc Huong was selected as one of Vietnam's delegates to the Asia-Pacific Regional Conference (APRM), Bangkok, Thailand, 2024.
An interesting twist: studying medicine, but starting a technology business
No one thought a medical student would make a specialized English app. But Huong not only thought, he did it. MedDoDo - a medical English support application was born from a "very real pain": medical books have a lot of English vocabulary, looking up words is tiring, learning is difficult, if you don't study carefully, you can easily get confused. So a group of young people started a startup. Huong and his group of friends built an application to support learning medical English. The project is an effort to help medical students, nurses and young doctors easily access specialized language in studying and clinical practice.

Huong and his teammates have excellently entered the Top 3 of the Social Innovation Launch 2024 startup competition.
While working professionally, studying, going to the hospital, and working on projects, Huong does not exaggerate or shout slogans, but simply: solves the exact thing he has struggled with. And it turns out, many other people need that too.
Thanks to its creativity and high applicability, MedDoDo was in the Top 3 finalists at Social Innovation Launch (SiL) 2024 - a social startup competition for young people to freely develop their ideas organized by Dai Nam University. Sharing about SiL, Huong said: "The competition has changed my mindset that startups do not need to be grand. Just solve a small but real problem and do it with all your heart to contribute."
The feeling about Huong is not "good", but "trustworthy"
Not every good medical student makes others want to trust him, but Huong makes people feel: he will become a doctor in the future, I can rest assured. Because in every choice, he has 3 clear things: Whatever he does must be right; Whatever he does must be kind; Whatever he does must be useful.
Teachers at Dai Nam said: "Huong is the type of student who makes me want to invest more time teaching him." And that is the greatest compliment for a medical student.

"Dai Nam University gives me the right to try, to make mistakes and to stand up properly"
Duc Huong shared: “Dai Nam University is the environment that nurtures my passion - where I can learn, try, make mistakes and move forward with a stronger spirit. I am always grateful and appreciate the opportunities that my teachers and the school have given me.”
Huong doesn’t talk much about himself, but he talks a lot about school: about the trips to the highlands that Huong calls “a gift of maturity”; about the practice hours where the teachers are both strict and warm; about the SiL competition - where Huong realizes that starting a business is not about getting rich, but about helping someone. One sentence of Huong makes people remember: “Dai Nam gives me the opportunity to learn through experience, not just through the curriculum.”
Duc Huong is always grateful to the teachers in the department and school for guiding and giving him many opportunities to try his hand.
Not perfect; Not flashy; Not “someone else’s kid” in the old way. Just a guy: good enough to be confident, humble enough to not be arrogant, kind enough to go far. And most importantly: living a beautiful, worthwhile, and fulfilling youth.
Duc Huong has proven that studying Medicine is not just "one-dimensional" as many people mistakenly think, but one can experience a "multi-colored" youth through countless meaningful activities.
The story of Nguyen Duc Huong - K15 Medical School is not to beautify or put on a pedestal, but to remind that: Medical students of the new generation are not "bookworms". They are people who study, live, and create value for society in their own unique way. And Dai Nam University is proud to be a companion. Together with ambitious young people like Huong, continue to create generations of kind and humane students for the community.
