783 students conduct scientific research: Dai Nam University trains "learners" to become "knowledge creators".
783 students, 242 scientific research projects, 21 faculty-level conferences – these numbers not only show the scale but also reflect a clear shift in university education: students are no longer just receiving knowledge, but are directly participating in creating knowledge.
At Dai Nam University (DNU), student scientific research is identified as a crucial component of its training strategy.
In the 2025-2026 academic year, the entire university implemented 242 research projects with the participation of 783 students; 236 projects were completed, of which 57 outstanding projects participated in the University-level Student Scientific Research Award. Faculty-level scientific conferences were organized systematically, becoming a forum for students to present, debate, and refine their ideas.
Behind the numbers lies a strategic approach to education: expanding research opportunities for a wide range of students, thereby fostering scientific thinking and problem-solving skills – core competencies in today's context.
According to Professor Dr. Dao Van Dong, Vice Rector of the university, scientific research is an environment that helps students develop rapidly in thinking and learning methods. When participating in research, students shift from a passive role to actively identifying problems, finding solutions, and defending their viewpoints with scientific arguments.
In practice, students participating in scientific research show significant growth in critical thinking, analytical skills, teamwork, and presentation. Many research topics are closely related to practical industry applications, opening up possibilities for employment after graduation and helping to bridge the gap between education and societal needs.
With a comprehensive support system, the guidance of faculty, and an open academic environment, student scientific research at Dai Nam University is gradually improving in quality and depth. This provides a foundation for students to confidently enter the modern workplace, where knowledge and problem-solving skills play a decisive role.
