The birth of the Fintech Development and Innovation Center - Dai Nam University trains high-quality Fintech human resources in Vietnam.

"With specialized training programs to refine and enhance each learner's individual skills, the activities of the Fintech Development and Innovation Center are a necessary, timely, and effective supplement to address the severe shortage of Fintech talent in Vietnam today," said Dr. Le Dac Son - Chairman of the Council of Dai Nam University at the inauguration ceremony of the Fintech Development and Innovation Center DNU (DNU FIDIC) on March 28th.

The program involves the participation of leaders from various agencies, committees, sectors, universities, and representatives from commercial banks.

What needs does the center address?

Dr. Le Dac Son asserts: As of 2024, the whole country only has 13 long-term regular training programs, 01 master's program, and some short-term Fintech training courses held irregularly. Therefore, Vietnam's current training capacity cannot meet both the quantity and quality demands of Fintech human resources. Hence, the establishment of the DNU Fintech Center can meet the growth rate of the Fintech market scale in Vietnam as well as the diverse and complex nature of Fintech products in the present and future periods.

 

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Hai Nam - Standing Member of the Economic Committee, National Assembly expressed the desire for Dai Nam University as well as the Fintech Development and Innovation Center to coordinate and accompany the National Assembly in scientific research activities in the field of finance and banking in general, and Fintech in particular.

Mr. Nguyen Hai Nam highly appreciates the establishment of DNU FIDIC.

Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Tuan Anh - Head of the Banking and Finance Department, University of Commerce, also affirmed: The establishment of the DNU FIDIC Center is a breakthrough step for Dai Nam University in training and staying ahead of the future workforce trends of the country.

Who is the training team and what training services do they provide?

Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Ngoc Duc - Head of the Banking and Finance Department, Director of DNU FIDIC Center, stated: One of the distinctive features of the Fintech training program at DNU is the involvement of universities that have implemented regular Fintech training programs in the United States, Taiwan, Hong Kong, etc.; Fintech experts both domestically and internationally working at universities implementing Fintech training programs in Vietnam; experts in Fintech projects supported by international organizations, commercial banks; financial consulting experts and training organizations, scientific research, law...; experts in entrepreneurship and innovation both domestically and internationally...

The training services of the center include:

  • Providing training services (supplementary training, specialized training, and advanced training); research, development, and provision of Fintech consulting services; organizing and conducting scientific and technological research activities.

  • Providing training services for learners including: Finance graduates and equivalents; information technology engineers; specialists, workers at Fintech companies, commercial banks; managerial staff at enterprises and state management agencies; university lecturers; those interested in the Fintech field.

The training content of the DNU Fintech Development and Innovation Center focuses on: Knowledge, skills, and expertise in information technology, finance - banking, and the application of information technology in the research and development of modern financial services products; Capability to deploy, develop, provide, and manage Fintech products/services; Risk management for Fintech products; Professional ethics, business culture, financial and information technology laws; Ability to think, innovate, develop strategies, and manage businesses in the digital economy; Management and leadership capabilities of state financial management agencies in general and Fintech in particular.
