Entrepreneurship and innovation (E&I) is the training policy of Dai Dai Nam University in the new development stage. This is the university model that the University is focusing all resources towards in order to educate a generation of students who are good at professional knowledge, have solid professional skills, good foreign language and information technology skills, have financial thinking and entrepreneurial spirit. Resolutely implementing the above policy, Dai Nam University recently cooperated with Bliss Education Joint Stock Company to organize the training program "Entrepreneurial Thinking" for lecturers and students of the University.

The training program was directly taught by Mr. Nguyen Cuu Long - CEO of Bliss Education. On the side of Dai Nam University, there were the following participants: Staff and lecturers of the Department of Training and Soft Skills Development, Finance and Banking, Business Administration; student representatives of the Departments of Finance and Banking, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, etc.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the program, Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Van Hong - President of Dai Nam University said: The training program "Entrepreneurial Thinking" is part of the cooperation between Dai Nam University and Bliss Education Joint Stock Company; aiming to train a team of lecturers to teach the subject "Entrepreneurial Thinking" for students of the whole school with three main contents including: Entrepreneurial mindset; Financial establishment and Startup unicorn; at the same time, transferring teaching materials to teachers of Dai Nam University.

“The purpose of the School is to help students have an entrepreneurial mindset, innovative thinking; promote the mindset of being an owner instead of an employee mindset, being financially proactive… To do that, first of all, the staff and lecturers must understand the school’s educational philosophy, and at the same time grasp the knowledge and mindset of entrepreneurship and innovation. Therefore, the School hopes that teachers will be extremely focused, clearly define their tasks and missions to study well, acquire a lot of knowledge to continue to impart to students”, Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Van Hong shared.

The instructor training program lasts 03 weeks, each week covers 01 content and is studied in 04 sessions on Saturday and Sunday. Phase 01 takes place from February 11 to February 12, 2023.

During the first week of school, teachers and students will learn about general issues of financial training programs and entrepreneurial thinking; get acquainted with the Be Rich board game, learn the rules of Be Rich to become an instructor; study the topics: Dreams and energy, Overcoming yourself, Applying the law of attraction.

During the session, the members were divided into 4 teams. Each team represented a business with full positions of Director, Deputy Director, Department Head, employee, etc. Each person took turns sitting in the “hot seat” and participating in the Be Rich game experience – a financial thinking opening teaching tool.

After each roll of the dice, players will perform according to the requirements of each card; thereby having the opportunity to increase the business's income. With this experience, learners will understand more about the market, opportunities and risks, risk management, financial reporting, buying and selling assets, borrowing capital, investing, etc. Through interactive exchange, members also learn sales skills, negotiation, cooperation, trading, and communication.

In addition to educating financial thinking about money and investment, players are also guided to find and realize their own dreams. In particular, businesses that want to survive must have the consensus of the entire system.

“To become rich, you need to understand that money is not everything. The problem is that you need to have the right attitude when making decisions. The way you behave now will determine the results you get in the future. That is the message I want to convey to teachers and students of Dai Nam University through the Be Rich chess learning tool,” said Mr. Nguyen Cuu Long.

Many valuable lessons about business, startups and innovation

Sharing after the course, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy - Head of Soft Skills Training and Development said: "Through the lessons in phase 1, we understand the operating mechanism of the market through the activities of the Be Rich chess set. From there, we learned many lessons about business and startups. In particular, the teacher is very enthusiastic, dedicated, profound, and knows how to manage the class, making the class always full of energy."

Mr. Bui Xuan Luan - Deputy Head of the Faculty of Finance and Banking shared: “The Entrepreneurial Mindset Education Program provides knowledge from a very "practical" perspective. Lectures are delivered through gamification (applying lessons through games). This approach is very suitable for students. Through games, learners will receive meaningful human values: learning to be a good person, knowing how to live with dreams, having plans and actions to achieve goals…”

Bui Ba Tu - class DM14.01, Head of the Startup Club also expressed: "The class with Mr. Long was extremely exciting and intuitive. After 4 classes, I have accumulated useful lessons about business, startups; teamwork skills, asset management, risk management... I feel lucky to be one of the first students to participate in this training program".
