My name was the only one mentioned because I had not paid my tuition. I suddenly felt a little guilty, sad and heartbroken… I felt guilty because I was the one holding an important position in the class, yet I could not complete the work that my friends had done. I felt sad because I only received reminders but was not asked why I had not paid my tuition. The image of both my parents being treated in the hospital made me feel so sad, I wanted to cry but could not, I just choked up in self-pity. I am the child of ordinary workers, living on the morning and evening markets. Both my parents being in the hospital meant that their livelihood was interrupted. The burden of food and clothing was already too difficult, to have money for my children to go to university, two thin shoulders were even more burdened.

This afternoon, the library was very quiet, with only a few students coming here to prepare for the upcoming exam. Honestly, I didn’t come to the library to study. I came to find a peaceful place, to find joy in the pages of books to temporarily forget the difficulties, loneliness and emptiness in my heart. I sat in the middle row, where there was a window facing the back of the building. The row of ancient rosewood trees with lush green canopies, spreading out, swaying in the wind seemed to send a warm greeting to someone in a mood like me. Anyway, with that funny thought, I felt my sadness lessen a bit. While I was lost in thought, I suddenly heard a teacher enter the room. It was my Chinese teacher, I greeted her and she responded with a very lovely smile.

Suddenly she approached me, with just one question but I felt so much concern in it: "Honey, are you having any difficulties? I see that you are the only one who has not paid your tuition fee in the faculty newspaper". This question seemed to open my heart, I told her about my story. Her sympathetic eyes and words of encouragement made me feel really relieved and warm. "I will lend you money to pay your tuition fee, don't be shy, when your family's difficulties are less, you can give it back to me". First of all, I must say that I was very surprised and extremely embarrassed, because I never intended to borrow money from anyone, especially from a teacher. I refused steadfastly, but with sincere and touching words, she encouraged me to bring that money to pay. So she took my worries and sent them to the wind.

I remember, one time, as soon as the bell rang, we students rushed out. We teased, we joked, it was so fun and refreshing after long classes. Unfortunately, there was a student who, perhaps because he was walking too fast, fell and sprained his leg. The teacher behind him hurriedly helped him up, asked him how he was doing, then hurriedly went to buy ice to apply to him, not forgetting to carefully remind him how to take care of his dislocated leg. You know, she herself was also in pain (she had just fallen), her leg was still limping, but when she saw her injured student, she still tried to comfort him with loving care. I thought to myself, only her special love for her students could compel her to do so. She was also a mother, she understood the feelings of a mother when she saw her child in pain... We, her students, although we could not be close to our mother, still found our mother's image in her.

I visited the website www.dainam.edu.vn and saw that many students considered her an idol. Interestingly, there were many articles written by students of other majors, some even from far away China. The Chinese textbooks that we and Chinese students, as well as many training institutions, are using are the books compiled by her. We are fortunate to be imparted knowledge by the teacher whose name is on the famous Chinese books and dictionaries. I believe that high school students, if they pass the entrance exam to Dai Nam University to study Chinese, will have many opportunities to learn and become successful under her caring, enthusiastic and intelligent guidance.

In the blink of an eye, she has taught us for two years, a long enough time for us to understand her heart. Not only is she a talented teacher, devoted to her career, but she is also the embodiment of a friendly, gentle, and lovable Vietnamese woman. Deep in my heart, there are two women: a teacher and a mother. In my eyes, my teacher is as beautiful as a magnolia flower. The small, gentle magnolia lies shyly in the foliage and the pure fragrance of this flower gently spreads into the space, making anyone nearby feel their soul is truly light.
