Dai Nam University’s Advanced Training Program: Elevating Education Quality

Following the success of its second cycle of institutional quality accreditation, Dai Nam University (DNU) has reaffirmed its commitment to innovation and academic excellence by launching an intensive training course on "Developing and Enhancing Academic Programs Based on Outcome-Based Education (OBE)." This initiative marks a significant step forward in DNU's journey to becoming a modern university that meets societal and labor market demands.

Dr. Le Dac Son, Chairman of the University Council, emphasized: "Implementing this OBE-based training is a strategic step toward realizing the recommendations from our second cycle of quality accreditation. It ensures that our academic programs are better aligned with societal and labor market needs, enhancing both relevance and effectiveness…"

The Importance of OBE

In an era of global integration and increasing competition, producing graduates equipped with knowledge, skills, and qualities that meet market demands is imperative. The OBE model, which focuses on student learning outcomes, provides clear direction for setting educational objectives, designing appropriate curricula, and objectively evaluating the effectiveness of learning processes.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Thi Thu Giang, Vice President of DNU, stated: "This training course not only fulfills accreditation requirements but also lays the foundation for the long-term development of Dai Nam University. The OBE model directs education to focus on students’ outcomes, ensuring they graduate with the knowledge, skills, and qualities needed to succeed in their careers and lives."

She further highlighted: "Quality accreditation is a milestone that establishes the university’s credibility, but post-accreditation improvement is the key to sustainable development. Adopting OBE enables Dai Nam University to build truly effective academic programs that meet societal expectations."

The Training Program: A Gateway to the Future

The four-day intensive training program was conducted with the guidance of Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, an expert in education quality assurance from the Center for Education Accreditation at Vietnam National University, Hanoi. The program garnered significant interest and participation from a large number of faculty members and staff across Dai Nam University.

I am excited to apply these new teaching methods to help students achieve more comprehensive development."

Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong highly commended Dai Nam University’s resolute commitment to building and enhancing academic programs based on the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) approach.
