Dai Nam University Welcomes Students from Other Universities to Discover Dynamic Intangible Cultural Heritage of Japan

Dai Nam University (DNU) is renowned not only for its esteemed reputation in language studies but also as a prominent center for cultural exchange among international students. University students from Hanoi recently visited DNU to participate in the Japan Cultural Festival - Yosakoi 2024, which highlighted Japan's lively intangible cultural heritage.

The event was organized by the Faculty of Japanese Language at Dai Nam University in collaboration with GAG Japanese Language Institute.

Mr. Nakashima Yusuke, Secretary of the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam said: “Dai Nam University is an excellent venue for international cultural exchanges because of its contemporary educational setting, comprehensive language training, and diverse international cooperation networks. 

Mr. Dinh Quang Hung, Vice Rector of Dai Nam University, affirmed: The Yosakoi The Yosakoi Exchange Festival serves as a practical platform for connecting groups with a strong interest in Japanese language and culture. This festival plays a significant role in promoting cordial relations between Vietnam and Japan.

 

Captivating performances at the peak of Yosakoi competition

Team Hanuyo from Hanoi University kicked off the festival with a lively and fascinating performance of Yocchorei.

Team Taiyo Yosakoi from Oriental University brought a vibrant and enthusiastic mood to the program with their consistent and determined performance.

The DNU Yo team presented a vibrant and energetic Yosakoi performance, demonstrating the innovative and passionate spirit of Dai Nam University students.

Team Suzume Yosakoi from Nguyen Trai University impressed the audience with graceful and elegant dance moves.

Team Isshin En Yosakoi performed a piece named Ajisai no Irotsuke, delivering an emotional performance that showed the unity and affection among team members.

Team Yokaze from Foreign Trade University presented a colorful performance, blending traditional and modern elements harmoniously.

Diverse cultural experience activities

Transform into favorite anime and manga characters; Dai Nam students brought a unique and creative cosplay space to the festival.

Representatives from businesses awarded the Favorite Cosplay prize to Dai Nam University's Japanese Language students.

Ms. Vu Thuy Nga, Dean of the Faculty of Japanese Language, stated: “At present, Dai Nam University has more than 100 students who are currently participating in paid internships and cultural immersion programs in Japan. In the future, the Faculty will persist in fostering competitions and cultural exchange programs to facilitate the connection of enthusiastic young individuals interested in understanding Japanese culture and language. This event will establish a solid foundation for students to seamlessly assimilate into Japan whenever they choose to do so.
