In legal education, academic knowledge is a crucial foundation. However, to become a truly competent legal professional, students not only need to understand the law but also need to be able to apply it to practical situations, possess critical thinking skills, litigation skills, and professional integrity. Stemming from a training orientation closely linked to practice, on the morning of May 14th, the Faculty of Law - Dai Nam University officially inaugurated the Legal Practice Room – a training model simulating a real-world professional environment for law students.

Legal education with a focus on practical application and real-world scenarios.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dr. Le Dac Son - Chairman of the School Board - emphasized the requirement to train students in an applied direction, enhancing practical professional experience right from the learning process.

Accordingly, incorporating practical training into the school environment is not simply about supplementing facilities, but clearly demonstrates Dai Nam University's training orientation: students must gain practical experience early on so that after graduation they can quickly adapt to the real-world work environment.

The legal practice room is designed as a "miniature professional environment," allowing students to directly access the specific professional activities of the legal field instead of just learning theory in the classroom.

Students get to directly participate in courtroom simulations and handle legal situations.

One of the core activities of the Legal Practice Room is mock trials – simulating actual court proceedings.

Here, students get to role-play in various capacities such as: judge, prosecutor, lawyer, court clerk, defendant, defender of legal rights and interests, etc.

Through practical case studies, students have the opportunity to hone their legal thinking, reasoning skills, critical analysis, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work under pressure – all crucial skills for those practicing law.

Besides mock trials, the practice room also serves as a space for organizing academic seminars, legal workshops, and networking activities with lawyers, legal experts, and practical organizations.

Real-life career stories, typical cases, and perspectives from professionals will help students gain a deeper understanding of the specifics of the job, professional responsibilities, and practical requirements of the legal profession today.

Learn through practical experience to develop professional skills.

A key feature of this model is that students have access to hands-on legal counseling activities under the direct guidance of lecturers, lawyers, and those with practical experience.

Instead of passively acquiring knowledge, students are progressively trained in professional skills such as listening, analyzing case files, communicating, advising, and handling legal issues for the community.

Learning through practical experience not only helps students consolidate their professional knowledge but also fosters professional thinking, ethical conduct, and the ability to adapt to the work environment after graduation.

The law practice room will also serve as an academic space for the Dai Nam Law Club – an environment that fosters research, debate, and professional skill development for law students.

Training orientation is linked to the practical needs of society.

Integrating vocational training models directly into the school environment demonstrates Dai Nam University's consistent training orientation: education goes beyond simply imparting knowledge and aims for genuine professional competence and adaptability to the labor market.

In the context of the legal profession, which increasingly demands high levels of expertise, skills, and professional ethics, a training environment closely linked to practice will give students a competitive advantage and greater confidence on their future career path.

Because the legal profession requires more than just people who understand the law. It requires people who understand people, understand reality, and possess the competence to uphold justice with knowledge, courage, and responsibility.
