Dai Nam University: From Lecturers' Commitment to a Transformational Step in Education with OBE Standards

The training workshop on developing and improving training programs (TP) based on Outcome-Based Education (OBE) standards at Dai Nam University was more than just a professional activity; it also demonstrated the teaching staff's dedication, passion, and responsibility in the journey of innovating higher education.

Establishing OBE Standards: From Awareness to Practice

Over four days, all Dai Nam University lecturers and management staff attended an intense session on the process for producing training programs that meet OBE criteria. Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, an expert in educational quality accreditation, supervised the workshop, which provided both theoretical knowledge and practical lessons through a study of the university's present training programs.

Participants were guided step by step through the process of designing learning outcomes, modifying course content, and assessing learning outcomes in relation to real-world demands. Modern learning methodologies, such as lectures, group work, and practical workshops, sparked creativity and responsibility in all attendance.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Thi Thu Giang – Vice Rector stated that "The content was systematically presented, from theoretical foundations to practical applications, empowering lecturers and faculty staff to confidently integrate OBE into training programs."

Wholehearted Commitment: The Value of Educator Dedication

The passionate and responsible engagement of the teaching staff contributed significantly to the workshop's success. Each session demonstrated their passion to learn and drive for creativity, opening the path for significant changes in teaching and training management.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy, Dean of the Faculty of Training and Soft Skills Development, stated: "The workshop provided me with a new perspective on higher education, from developing learning outcomes to designing practical teaching methods."

Similarly, Dr. Nguyen Thi Vinh Hue, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, commented, "This workshop provided the answers I had long been searching for, helping me better orient the improvement of the Pharmacy training program to make it more effective and practical."

Significant progress, broad vision.

The workshop went beyond simply creating training programs based on international standards. It also opened up strategic directions for the university, including:

  • Creating training programs geared towards research and application.

  • Enhancing lecturers' scientific research capacity.

  • Using modern technology, notably AI, for education and evaluation.

Dr. Le Dac Son, Chairman of the University Council, emphasized at the closing ceremony of the workshop "Developing and Enhancing Training Programs Based on OBE Standards" on January 9: "We are continuously striving for improvement to train generations of students who are truly capable and ready to meet the demands of society and the labor market."

This effort was more than just a workshop; it marked the start of strategic changes, establishing Dai Nam University as a symbol of innovation in Vietnam's higher education industry.
