With the desire to bring practical lessons, help students build and position their personal brands, score points with employers, and be more successful in work and life, recently, the Faculty of Soft Skills Training and Development of Dai Nam University successfully organized the talk show "Gen Z and Personal Brand".

The program attracted a large number of staff, lecturers and students of Dai Nam University.

The talk show was attended by Ms. Cao Thi Hoa - Vice Principal of Dai Nam University; Mr. Pham Van Minh - Head of Soft Skills Training and Development Department; and representatives of staff, lecturers of Faculties, Departments, Boards and students of Dai Nam University.

In particular, the program has the participation of speakers: Journalist Ngo Ba Luc, actress/photo model Nguyen Hoang Ngoc Huyen, Tiktoker Dinh Ngoc Binh.

Soft skills training – one of the major policies of Dai Nam University

Speaking at the program, Ms. Cao Thi Hoa said: In the context of increasing demand for high-quality human resources, soft skills are considered the key to success in all fields. Therefore, in addition to learning specialized knowledge, students need to equip themselves with soft skills such as communication, teamwork... especially building a personal brand to impress employers.

Ms. Cao Thi Hoa emphasized: "Dai Nam students must have their own personality, soft skills and good attitude."

Understanding that importance, Dai Nam University pays special attention to soft skills training for students and is the first university in the North to make soft skills a core subject with a unique, different, and attractive learning and experience program for students. In particular, Dai Nam University is also the first university in the country to have a Soft Skills Training and Development Department with a team of young, professional, dynamic, and enthusiastic lecturers.

Dai Nam University students, right from the time they enter the school, are trained and equipped with soft skills such as: Communication, presentation, teamwork, negotiation, situation handling skills, emotional education, positive attitude... and personal branding. In addition, DNU students are also trained very systematically in soft skills according to the specific characteristics of the profession.

“With the knowledge and skills learned in the classroom, I hope that each student will build their own brand; at the same time, contribute to building the brand of Dai Nam University. Because each student is a representative of the University…” , Ms. Hoa shared.

What factors make up a personal brand?

According to journalist Ngo Ba Luc, to build a personal brand, you must first ask yourself the question: "Who am I?". Only then can you orient your personality, skills, passions and the brand image you want to build.

Journalist Ngo Ba Luc believes that each person needs to find their own strengths to build a personal brand.

Actress Ngoc Huyen shared: “We ourselves also need to cultivate professional capacity and soft skills; nurture passion and personal interests, and hone them into valuable tools for ourselves; and especially, we must create a difference for ourselves so as not to be dissolved among other entities.”

Actress Ngoc Huyen advised students to believe in themselves. Only when we have faith in ourselves can we make others believe in us.

Agreeing with the views of journalist Ngo Ba Luc and actress Ngoc Huyen, Tiktoker Ngoc Binh added: “Another important thing is sincerity. Because only sincerity can help us conquer others. Be yourself, don’t force yourself to pursue an inappropriate image…”

Tiktoker Ngoc Binh advises young people to always be the best version of themselves.

In particular, all three speakers emphasized: When we have a certain position, we must try harder and challenge ourselves more than yesterday. Never be satisfied or complacent about yourself.

Good attitude creates the brand of Dai Nam University students

At the program, three speakers said they were very impressed with the serious, civilized and polite attitude of Dai Nam University students.

“Not only teachers and guests, but you also bow to other students. That shows your kindness and civility. During the talk show, you all listened attentively and looked at the stage. This shows your respect for the guests. In my opinion, this is the identity and unique brand of Dai Nam University students,” journalist Ngo Ba Luc shared.

Mr. Pham Van Minh - Head of Soft Skills Training and Development Department presented souvenirs to the speakers.

The speaker also advised students to maintain and make good use of the three assets: knowledge, skills and attitude to assert themselves, build their own brand, and make a good impression on employers when applying for jobs.
