Bridging Theory and Practice – Logistics Students from Dai Nam University Explore Northern Vietnam’s Largest Warehousing Facilities

To help students gain practical insights into logistics operations and modern warehouse management, the Faculty of Logistics and Supply Chain Management of Dai Nam University organized a field trip to AJ Total Vietnam Company (Hung Yen) and SLS Logistics Vietnam Center (Yen My) – GLC CJ Logistics. This trip not only provided hands-on experiences but also broadened students’ understanding of warehouse management processes, technology applications, and the challenges within the logistics industry.

Experiencing a Large-Scale Cold Storage System – AJ Total Vietnam

The first stop was AJ Total Vietnam’s cold storage facility, one of the most modern and largest cold storage systems in Northern Vietnam, specializing in solutions for preserving food, pharmaceuticals, and temperature-sensitive goods.

In this environment, students had the opportunity to:

- Experience different types of storage environments, ranging from cool storage (0°C – 5°C) to deep-freeze storage (-45°C).

- Learn about the preservation processes for goods, including food, pharmaceuticals, and perishable products.

- Observe an intelligent warehouse management system that utilizes automation technology to control temperatures.

- Explore modern equipment such as shelving systems, specialized forklifts, and deep-freeze technology.

- Listen to experts share insights on cold storage safety standards and methods to optimize operations.

This hands-on experience deepened students’ understanding of the importance of the cold supply chain and the technological solutions used in goods preservation.

Exploring Smart Warehousing Systems at GLC CJ Logistics

Continuing the journey, students moved to SLS Logistics Vietnam Center (Yen My) – GLC CJ Logistics, one of the most advanced logistics hubs in the region.

At this industry, students were able to:

- Observe the process of smart warehouse operation, from receiving and storing goods to dispatching them.

- Learn about the application of modern technologies such as IoT and ERP systems in inventory management and temperature monitoring.

- Practice evaluating warehouse performance, identifying factors to optimize storage space and improve operational efficiency.

- Engage with experts to gain deeper insights into the challenges, opportunities, and professional requirements of the logistics industry.

These practical lessons provided students with a comprehensive view of their chosen field while helping them clarify the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the future.
