15 outstanding events of the Faculty of Computer Science in 2022

Despite many difficulties and challenges, the Faculty of Computer Science, Dai Nam University has achieved many remarkable achievements in 2022. Let's review 15 outstanding activities and events of the Faculty of Computer Science in the past year!

1. Establishment of the Department of Computer Science

On February 22, 2022, the Faculty of Computer Science, Dai Nam University was established. This is also the third consecutive year that the Vietnamese education sector continues to be heavily affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

In that context, the need for information technology, especially data technology, data science, AI, Machine learning, Internet of Thing becomes more urgent globally. The project to open a Computer Science major and a Computer Science faculty is in line with the trend of the times.

In particular, the Computer Science Engineering training program oriented towards the Japanese market marks a turning point for the development of the Faculty and the School. Students are trained in depth in the fields of: Artificial Intelligence, Big data, Data Science, IoT, Machine learning, ...

2. Strategy for developing high-quality Computer Science industry

Computer Science is one of the four new majors of Dai Nam University, officially enrolling students in the 2022-2023 school year. The Computer Science training program with 10 distinct points of Dai Nam University helps students gain a competitive advantage when graduating, confidently integrating into the domestic and international job market.

In particular, the training program is designed with output standards for each school year:

• First Year: Technical College (Hardware, computer networks, programming).
• Second Year: Programmer (programming, software technology).
• Third Year: Data Processing and AI Application Specialist.
• Fourth Year: Big Data and Intelligent Control Specialist.
• Fifth year: Engineer with Japanese IT skill standard (FE Standard).

In addition, the development of foreign language skills is highly focused on by the Faculty of Computer Science and the foreign language training program of the faculty is divided into 2 types:

• Japanese: N3++ standard (for classes oriented to the Japanese market)
• English: Toeic 450 or equivalent (for international orientation classes)

3. Project to open the Science and Technology industry

With the determination to train high-quality human resources in the field of Science and Technology and ensure that graduates can work immediately at Japanese companies in the country and abroad, the school's leaders and the Faculty have developed a project to open a major in Science and Technology. The project has been approved by the Ministry of Education and Training.

4. Workshop "Training and developing human resources in the field of science and technology oriented towards the Japanese market"

With the aim of training - developing - improving the quality of human resources in Computer Science (CS) to meet the requirements of socio-economic development of the country in the context of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and national digital transformation; creating a forum connecting training institutions - businesses - learners; promoting the participation of businesses in the training process; developing CS human resources training oriented to the Japanese market to increase the competitiveness of students after graduation, recently, Dai Nam University successfully organized the Workshop on Training and Developing CS Human Resources oriented to the Japanese market and signed a cooperation agreement with 10 leading enterprises in Vietnam.

5. Signed cooperation agreements with 10 IT companies to create internship environments for Computer Science students

In order to create an internship and employment environment for students majoring in Computer Science, DNU signed training cooperation agreements with 10 large technology enterprises. The cooperation agreements with enterprises are all aimed at the goal of training - developing - improving the quality of human resources in Computer Science; creating a forum connecting training institutions - enterprises - learners; promoting the participation of enterprises in the training process, creating a practical, professional learning environment, internship and employment opportunities for students; developing training of human resources in Computer Science oriented towards the Japanese market to increase competitiveness and opportunities for students after graduation...

6. Successful 2022 Enrollment and Meeting with K16 KHMT Students

With the aim of helping new students understand more deeply about the school, faculty and high-quality engineering training model oriented towards the Japanese market, thereby actively and passionately studying to achieve the best results, the Faculty of Computer Science, Dai Nam University organized a meeting for new students of K16. Right at the meeting, the "new recruits" immediately received "huge" scholarships from large enterprises.

7. Establish and launch Programming Club

On August 31, 2022, the DNU Programming Club was launched to promote initiative and creativity in learning and scientific research, creating a healthy playground for students to exchange and share programming experiences.

8. Free Japanese class for Programming Club

The Japanese Fintech Company supported the efforts to help DNU successfully organize this first course. The course marked a new step forward in training oriented to the Japanese market for the Science, Technology and Information Technology majors at Dai Nam University. Through this, students of the Science, Technology and Information Technology majors who are looking for jobs will have more opportunities to work domestically and internationally with "extremely high salaries".

9. “Japanese Language and Culture Experience” Week

The Faculty of Computer Science in collaboration with Seiko Ideas Joint Stock Company organized a free Basic Japanese Language and Culture Experience Week to create opportunities for students to experience a new foreign language, have a learning environment and cultural exchange, access a professional working environment and have more job opportunities after graduation. At the same time, it helps students have a clearer orientation when registering to choose a training program in the field of Computer Science oriented towards the Japanese market.

10. JobFair 2022

With the aim of improving the quality of training, thoroughly applying the learning ecosystem "enhancing the maximum experience between studying and practicing at enterprises", creating conditions for students of the Engineering major to expand their internship and work opportunities in the Japanese market with high income, the Faculty of Computer Science, Dai Nam University organized the Job Fair "JOB FAIR 2022 - Technology human resources for the Japanese market". Participating in the Fair, many students confidently "conquered" Japanese employers, were accepted for paid internships and had the opportunity to work in Japan long-term with good benefits after graduation.

11. Signed a cooperation agreement with FIMO Company to provide Japanese language scholarships for K16

FIMO Company accompanies the Faculty of Computer Science, Dai Nam University to help students receive training combined with practice; internships and at the same time introduce jobs to students in the Japanese market after graduation... In particular, students are trained in the Japanese market orientation with high-quality classes oriented to the Japanese market with scholarships granted by FIMO Company (committed to Japanese language reaching N3++ standard and Japanese soft skills), committed to employment after graduation.

The Faculty of Computer Science signed a training cooperation agreement with Seiko Ideas Joint Stock Company to ensure the quality of Japanese output meets FE vocational skills standards and N3++ standards. Helping students have career orientation and ensure proficiency in Japanese when working with Japanese partners at home and abroad.

13. Machine Learning and Deep Learning Course with French Expert

Aiming at the goal of training high-quality human resources in the field of machine learning; students are taught by foreign lecturers, accessing the latest knowledge of the industry to ensure that 100% of graduates have jobs immediately at domestic and international enterprises with high income; recently, the Faculty of Computer Science (KHMT), Dai Nam University organized a short-term course for Engineering students taught by Associate Professor, Dr. Yannick Le Nir - CY-Tech University (France).

14. Build a system of practical programming courses for programming clubs

The Faculty of Computer Science collaborates with lecturer Nguyen Manh Hung to develop training content and development orientation for the courses of "Practical Incubator - Course 1". In this course 1, lecturer Nguyen Manh Hung will divide the training program into 4 stages, each stage will follow a specialized research direction, the first stage will be a solid foundation for you to study in the next stages.

15. Building KHMT FC football team

After only 1 month of enrollment of K16 students, the Faculty of Computer Science has built the KHMT FC football team with a team of professional, energetic and enthusiastic players. The team promises to expand with more members and recruit many "golden" strikers in the next courses.

With a year marking outstanding activities and events of the Faculty of Computer Science in 2022, the School believes that the Faculty of Computer Science will have "breakthroughs" with many outstanding achievements in the following years.
