FIT-DNU students obtain valuable hands-on experience at FPT Software: businesses have the opportunity to assess highly skilled human resources

As part of Dai Nam University's commitment to maximizing the integration of theoretical knowledge and real-world applications in business environments, equipping students with the skills to easily acquire knowledge and apply it practically, the Faculty of Information Technology (FIT) places great importance on providing students with practical experience in real working environments. In line with this educational philosophy, the Faculty of Information Technology arranged a visit and practical training opportunity for students cohort 14 at FPT Software - the leading software company in Vietnam.

FPT Software is highly willing to support FIT-DNU students

FPT Software, a partner of the Faculty of Information Technology at Dai Nam University, actively supports students through internships, recruitment, research and development collaborations in the field of IT. The students' visit and practical experience at FPT Software are integral parts of the collaborative program between the University and the company. The University focuses on providing practical training for students, while businesses take advantage of evaluating high-quality human resources.

During the visit to FPT Software, IT faculty members and students had the opportunity to delve into the company's history and development, gaining valuable insights into its operational procedures and workforce. They also visited various specialized departments, observed ongoing research projects, and engaged in direct discussions with technology and software experts, gaining a realistic perspective on product development and IT applications.

Mr. Le Quan, the Head of School Relations at FPT Software, addressed the inquiries of the IT students regarding job prospects and positions within the company. He emphasized the industry's practice of considering GPA (Grade Point Average) as a screening criterion for resumes, highlighting the importance of dedicated studying and striving for excellence.

A representative from FPT Software provided useful information about the career opportunities and salary levels that FIT-DNU students could expect during their working time at the company

It is noteworthy that language skills greatly influence job positions and salaries in the IT industry. Proficiency in languages plays a vital role in securing competitive salaries. Additionally, maintaining a professional work attitude and possessing solid expertise are crucial factors for achieving success.

Despite the brief interaction, FPT Software recognized the exceptional qualities of IT students from Dai Nam University: "They are quick, dynamic, eager to learn, and demonstrate positive attitudes. FPT Software expressed its readiness to welcome students for visits, hands-on experiences, and internships at the company," said Mr. Quan.

This practical experience nurtures students' passion for their careers and assists in setting their future goals

Nguyen Tien Dat, a student from IT class 14.03 expressed that: “Engaging in practical experiences at companies is one of my favorite activities in the Faculty of Information Technology at DNU. Through this opportunity, I gained a clearer understanding of the work environment, culture, and recruitment standards, empowering me to make a plan and strive to become an outstanding engineer with boundless earning potential”.

IT students actively interacted with technology and software experts, engaging in professional discussions with them.

Do Thi Hoan, a student from class 14.05, remarked that: “This practical experience brought me a clearer vision of the future work environment and further fueled my passion for the profession. I believe that the IT Faculty's practical training program integrated with real-world practice will serve as a solid foundation as we join the job market and impress potential employers”.

Students visit and experience the real-world settings at FPT Software

Dr. Dau Hai Phong, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of IT emphasized the necessity and urgency of students’ visiting and experiencing the real-world environment at businesses: “Such experiences provide students with the opportunity to access and acquire practical knowledge, ultimately strengthening the collaborative relationship between the University, businesses, and students.
